LasVegas motor speedway

Hi all, I am headed to Vegas next weekend and am considering going to LasVegas motor speedway for this exoticracing thing. My budget is $400. The hard part is picking a car! Do I do 5 laps in a 458 italia or 10 in a GTR? Etc. I was thinking GTR as it is the opposite of my Lotus and have never driven one. Now the mclaren and 458 are really expensive. Any reccomendations would be appreciated. They also have a GT3 which looks like fun and maybe similar in drive style to my elise. Wish they had an atom or viper but no. Here is the website RACING SCHOOL, Exotics racing school is the ultimate driving experience at Las Vegas Speedway with Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche.

To me it's a decision between driving a car I always wanted to drive (likely fewer laps for the money) or more laps in an also great car. Fun either way.
Also consider another $99.00 for two ride-along laps in their Z-06 drift car. Worth it.

When you are done at Exotic, Dream Racing is about a mile away. Another amazing stable of cars.

I did the Mclaren, GTR, Lamborghini Superleggera and Ferrari Scuderia.

Hands down the Lambo was the most fun and well worth it even though it was $400. When you get there ask about and specials, they had a buy one lap get one free and the GTR for $99 if you rent another car. I planned on spending $700 and walked away about $1,200 poorer but so happy!

I also rented the Ferrari 458, 430 and 360 plus SLS and R8 in Mexico and I would still go with the Lambo, raw like the lotus but more powerful, the Mclaren was Soooo fast but too refined and the was Ferrari was amazing but meh compared to the other cars. Usually the R8 is less and is 95% of the Lambo experience.

2005 Lamborghini Gallardo - Weekend Car
2010 Ferrari California
2016 BMW X5M - Wifemobile
2014 Ram 1500 Limited - Tow Vehicle

Thanks my wifes boss wants to drive the lambo but he has no track experience. So i am thinking scuderia and gtr. I have driven the lambo before not the superleggra though. Ack so indecisive! It is my wifes birthday so I don't want to spend too much on me! I am already getting crap about my clutch upgrade!

I did the event in Vegas last year. My thought was I'd rather drive the car that I probably won't someday have the chance to buy. Why drive something that you could feasibly test drive at a dealer? So the Aston, GTR, and Porsches were out.

Ended up driving the 458, my wife drove the Gallardo. You can sit in all of the cars while you're waiting for your turn. It's a fun time.

You can always sign up to drive more cars while you're there, so don't feel like you have to book more beforehand to get the best deal. For me a track weekend with the Porsche club is around $400, so it was more the experience of driving something that I'll likely never drive again. But I had as much fun walking around/sitting in all of the cars as I did driving (well....almost). Get some bonus points by signing your wife up as well vs going crazy for yourself too, pays dividends later.

If you haven't ever done a track weekend before then perhaps this will draw you down that slippery slope. Worked for my wife!

Hopefully i will still love my lotus after. I am pretty sure I will! Haven't driven anything that early apexes like the elise except open wheel. That is just nuts

Drove the R8 for 5 laps. Suprised at how slow the shifts were. Also quite a bit of understeer. Then the F430 scuderia was awsome for 10 laps! Finally got the groove after 6 laps though! The sound was intoxicating! Needs a little trail braking to get front to bite but rotates great through the apex. Man power comes on quick through the exit! I did put the wipers on on 1 upshift! Haha brakes were great. Had to buy video as they would not let me use gopro but wth! Really great experience but still love my Lotus!!!
