Question Sacramento to Coyote (South San Jose)

Calling LarryB or any others with knowledge of excellent NorCal roads.

My grandfather lives in Coyote, CA -kinda out in the sticks south of San Jose. I'm up by Sacramento... It's not very fun taking the freeway from here to there.

I mapped out a route I'm hoping you'll critique before I run it. Feel free to completely condemn it and offer another plan. This is the initial feeler, so fire away!

Here's the route I plotted

Thanks in advance!

Alternative to get from Antioch to Livermore is to use Deer Valley, then west on Marsh Creek and then south on Morgan Territory to Livermore Blvd. Continue on Livermore Blvd and then east on May School Rd which becomes Dagrino. Then left on Raymond to Vasco.

Vasco from Brentwood to Livermore is no doubt faster, but is heavily traveled and patroled.

Give yourself at least 4-5 hours for this drive.

I've always enjoyed 160 in the delta. Morgan Territory is fun, albeit a bit bumpy and Mines/Mt Hamilton just rocks.

Cheers,
Kiyoshi

Know the southbay route and you already picked what I think will be the meat of the drive. The Junction is a little restaurant (130/Del Puerto Canyon Rd), thats a good breakpoint. Also be sure to stop at the top of Mt Hamilton, at the Lick Observatory for some nice views of the valley.... it's such a fun route, you may want to take it back. Or if the timing is right let me know and I might join you. It's been a few years since I've driven it and don't need much of an excuse.

Thumbs up Thank you!

Thanks, Kiyoshi and LarryB (I knew you would have some ideas -i'll let you know when I'm headed that way)! That is exactly what I'm looking for.

Anyone else have any good ideas?

My place is at the North end of 160. Let me know if you ever head up this way.
