Um, Doug, Pikes Peake is the only reason I am in Colorado and Colorado Springs tonight !!! Am sure there is lots else here but that is why I am going up it tomorrow morning !!! I have been following the hill climb there since way before even Michelle Mouton did it !!

So today on the way to Colorado I have temp fluctuations of minus 2 deg C to about plus 28 deg C. And I have snow storms and sand storms !!!
But I had some nice climbs as well !!! 500 miles in 10 hours, and only stopped twice for fuel (and once to pick up a piece that fell of my car on I 70 !!!)

Had a great time in Colorado. Had a perfect run up Pikes Peak, and then in the evening good meeting everyone at the LOCO meeting. Thanks to Doug to put me up one night, and then William the next, and taking me out to Red Rocks. Left Denver this morning and am now in Casper Wyoming for the night before going up to Greybull to meet some friends, and then hopefully if the weather holds, I can get to see some of Yellowstone. But I like Colorado !!
Lots of pics of Pikes Peak on my blog, but here is a couple just to tempt you all !!

Sorry to my friends to the north but.

Giles, Most of Wyoming looks the same doesn't it?

The North West section is beautiful, but there is just a lot of filler till then.

Um, Yes, Lots of filler !!!!!!

But they did throw a few canyons at me occasionally just to bring the smile back !!! Having a lazy day with friends today, and then going to try and get in the North Gate of Yellowstone tomorrow. Then from Missoula going to go SW on Hwy 12 across to Walla Walla before dropping down to Portland. Hwy 12 is listed as "Scenic", but is about the only way across at the moment as I don't want to go all the way south to Boise via the Sawtooth area (much as I would like to).

Actually, they do know about the trip, but so far I have seen no positive adjustment to my bank statement !! But I might send them a pic of the Evora and my car between turns 8 and 8a, and see if that impresses them any more !!

Today was a bit of a let down weather wise, but the drive up through Half Moon Bay was equally impressive !!

We were just visiting in SF the week before you! Too bad didn't cross paths.
Enjoy the rest of the trip!
God Bless!

That was it. I like seeing how the rest of the world enjoys/solves problems with their cars. Thanks!

So did the new break pads cure the break squeal?
Glad you got the hand break working again.

The old ones (which were new in just before I shipped the car) were just deglazed, chamfered edges, and de squeal on discs and orange goo on back of pads. Oh, and swap rotors from front to rear.

No, that didn;t work - Well, it did for about 10 minutes !! Don;t have a clue what's going on.
Got some new pads to put in when I get the chance - Was going to try and do the fronts this afternoon but went for a (push) bike ride in the local park / forest today and crashed out (spun out ?) on a hairpin corner that caught me unawares in the damp and despite excellent cadence braking (!, Like in an S1, no ABS !!) didn't quite make it round !! Left lots of elbow and knee skin on road so won't be kneeling beside my car changing brake pads for a few days yet !! Will carry the pads with me in case some kind soul offers to do them for me !!!! Going down to Seattle tomorrow to meet the Evergreen Lotus guys and do a DeLorean Shed run on Sat which should be fun.

Yes, hand brake kind of important for ferry crossings !!

Back on the road again. Crossed the border into Canada today, so now in Vancouver. Head up to Whistler and beyond tomorrow. Need some sunshine please !!
Put in the EBC Green Stuff pads and so far so good - But I can still hear things and am getting more and more convinced it is the discs. Never had a problem before I changed over to these more expensive Ali-belled discs.

Welcome to Canada! Eh?

If your in Vancouver for a few days before heading to Whistler stop in at Weissach and have Stuart look at your brakes.

Let me know if your thirsty for a few pints!

Cheers!

Sorry guys - I have missed a few as I have passed through ! Problem is that when you are driving by yourself it is kind of hard to be reading on the computer about who is where !! And to be honest, in BC, the weather was SO bad I didn;t even feel like getting out of the car !! Sun came out as soon as I crossed into the Yukon, and had the roof off all yesterday coming up to Whtehorse.
When does everything open round here ????? I was told May 1st, but nothing is open here. Camp sites all closed, tourist attractions not up and running ! What is up with this place !! I planned on taking 3 weeks to drive up to Alaska, but after 1 week I am 300 kms from the Alaskan border !!!
I wonder if Alaska is open ? Maybe they have all left ?
