With Michelin airless tires I guess. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/thre...s-tires.33193/
I remember when Michelin dropped out of F-1 for lack of a tire that could endure! (Micheal Schumacher era) Bridgestone took over at the time. (2008?)

Claimed top speed of over 250 MPH, I'm guessing only at Bonneville or Nardo.
1/4 mile at 8.8s.

The real question is "Is it trackable?". The Model S will not sustain the output for extended periods. This is the problem they were having in Europe because they wanted to run 125+ MPH continuously.

Looks like it will need some aero to stay on the ground with those performance figures. Pretty exciting

Having meet some of the aero engineers, believe me that they have that figured out with the shape of the body. The Model S has some very good drag numbers compared to other manufactures.

Hi

The need new Tesla roadster is impressive stats. 0-60 in 1.9 seconds. 250mph top speed. look like 200K for a car that will better all super cars.

Are the stat's from an actual car where independent sources actually observed the results? I am finding it hard to believe.

A couple months back there was a Tesla S on the track. It did not take me long to pass it but I was impressed that it was out there. I wondered how long it would go before running out of juice.

I'm not sure about the stats...but I did see a little video clip of it accelerating and it didn't even look real.

The problem is that the car cannot run in the "Insane" mode for very long because it will over-heat either the batteries or the motors, I forget which.

Start watching at 4:00 for the acceleration run...

Just leaving this here. I think it's gorgeous.

I don't however have $200k+ to spend on an automobile...

I would think that with a 600 mile range you could probably run a track day on a charge, and you would have to give up some max performance to run on the track, it would seem not a big deal for Tesla to program in a track mode that can manage heat in that circumstance

They say 8 second quarter mile time. My daily driver is a Chevy volt and the linear acceleration is alot of fun.
I wish lotus would plan for Electric lotus. I love my Elise and will never sell it, but i will never buy a Gas car again.

Do we know if this new Roadster was engineered in-house or is again based on the new 2020 Elise architecture? If so, that would give us a sense of the new Elise's dimensions and general shape.

The front, rear overhangs, and the track look very similar to a long wheelbase Lotus, me thinks they may have used a first gen Tesla roadster as a test bed.

Musk said that in hindsight Tesla should have designed the original roadster from the ground up instead of trying to use the Elise chassis since so many parts were changed anyway. I seriously doubt that Lotus had anything to do with this car.
