Quite a new direction.

Putting this here because this is the sort of car that would draw the attention of most anyone looking at a new well outfitted Evora. Nice to have such choices.

The lines remind me a lot of our Z car

mwehnes 11-21-2017 06:34 PM

omg.. what did they do. it's hideous. yuck.

I've always loved Aston's, all of them, dreamed of having one once the kids are gone. Dream is dead (until the next gen after this is released, fingers crossed).

Anyone else see the similarity to an FRS?

Looks like the front end of an ND Miata.

Shouldn't this be in "Other cars and comparisons"?

?

The DB11 should fill the need for a “classic” Aston look. But all of them will now have Mercedes motors and electronics. And turbos. No more NA Aston 12s. But this Vantage’ interior still looks and feels and smells heavenly.

I put this here, misplaced I guess, to illustrate what might distract me from an Evora 430 and successors.

Nissan will probably never do a successor to the 370Z. But if they did it might look a lot like this.

me73 11-21-2017 07:36 PM

Does anyone else see that they stole the door pinch lines from the Evora?

A little unsure about the giant mesh grill up front. But overall I like it.

XHILR8N! 11-22-2017 09:55 AM

Over on the 370Z sites they are saying this is what the new Z35 would look like. Minus the unfinished grill.

Man... Those just keep getting better with age. Such a beautiful design.

The OP's shot is an odd angle and isn't how I think you'd see it in the metal. Maybe XH1L's photos are more realistic renditions and IMO the car looks better for it. After 4 months in an Evora, most interiors looks busy to me. But that car's interior is probably a sweet kind of busy once you're inside looking out.

And indeed, the pinch at the waist is very Evora like but the rest of the car isn't too evocative of the Evora to me. I like it too.

KCZ 11-25-2017 07:08 PM

That is hideous, and looks nothing like a Z to me.

I actually like the new one, and that's coming from a current owner also.

XHILR8N! 11-26-2017 05:07 AM

After seeing several videos on utube this car has really grown on me. Quite looking forward to seeing one. That front end is a bold move for sure, but simply futuristic.

Very nicely done, D Brown would be proud.

I'm happy to see Aston has taken back their iconic radiator opening from a derivative variant that's seen on more pedestrian Ford models.

XHILR8N! 11-26-2017 10:48 AM

Yeah Ford stole that. They also stole the style of the new Explorer from Range Rover.

MConte05 11-26-2017 11:40 AM

I friggin love that interior. The old Aston interior was really starting to get long in the tooth.

boxerman 11-26-2017 07:35 PM

Looks like the new supra design, The front is all toyota and thats not a compliment, the rear inspred by volvo the whole shape wrapping around an overdone mercedes c class interior. I would have thought this car was designed by an ex toyota person.

The prior vantage is probably the most beautuful car of the modern era, not wrong line, perfectly proportioned, proof good design is possble in todays legislated auto landscape. with . This new one, full of stylign gimmicks disjointed, and the way the front end bumper and grill go togtehr just smacks of cynical cost cutting and cheapness.

Dynamicaly no doubt its a big step up from the hard riding not quite fast enough old car.

Whereas a V12 Vantage was truly compelling and sure to be the classic of the 2ks, this new car will be forgotten as fast a a 370z.

The side profile is ok if you dont mind flame surfacing. Did bangle do this one? Its got his same lack of proportion or cohesion.

Frankly its a dog.
