I'll be ok with that if it looked like that.
Canopies are cool, if anything, if you make a mental connection with fighter or jets or something or something along those lines. Halos are meh.
The downside would be drivers getting trapped underneath it when they go upside down due to crash or whatever, but maybe that can be avoided with some smart sensors that can recognize car being upside down or rotating in the way it's not supposed to, and blow the canopies off.
Keep it open-wheeled because F1. But, maybe it's time for open cockpit to go.

I'm sure the FIA will have a version of this for the drivers to punch out.

Bond had that figured out 60 yrs ago. You just need the ejector seat button.
