I was hoping/expecting that the Gt4 would have a detuned 450hp Gt3 engine, in other words a real rever, and a shirter ratio gearbox. That would be a very compelling machine.
What the "new" Gt4 is appears to be what the regular cayman should have been in the first place if porche was not so obsessed with protecting the 911. In fact why wouldnt you just get a 911T.
Cylinder decativation, stop start, have no place in a "tack" or track capable car.
Im expecting the "new lotus" to make a 400+hp 2500lbs car, that would be interesting.
The Gt4, its just a porker, cool street car but whats really compelling here. Seems like they just phoned it in. the boxter spyder version is at least a cool roadster.
In a months time we'll see the new mid engined vette, that may at some point in the future have some interesting light iterations that work on track.
To me the most interesting new car in the cayman category is the alpine 110, I cant see getting any cayman over that, other than we cant get one in the usa.
