GT4= Hairdresser's car. .

Radical FTW......only $125K loaded for the 1500 today ..... who needs a street car.

Back in 2012, only $100K ..... much better lap times than any P-car or Lotus.

Aside from Elise's being unavailable new with the newest several years old now, don't think folks would be cross shopping these two cars. The Evora 400 and Porsche maybe, certainly not the Elise.

I never understood this "wouldn't be cross shopped" talk. There are literally YouTube videos comparing Cayman and Elises.

Also, when I was looking for my Elise I thought about Caymans, Miatas, S2000, M3, 4C, Julia, Giulia, ect...

In any cases I’m sure it’s a great car, and probably will hold value better than the 400/410 (or any Lotus for that matter).
Still the Evora is better looking.

That equates to 362 Hp out of our 3.5L; that may be achievable on NA with headers, cams and tune, and with the cost of a used S1 NA, upgrades would still be much cheaper that entry price of the GT4 .. plus bonus of more communicative steering and lighter weight car.

Those Caymans that were compared to Elises were much lesser than THIS machine. If you want the performance of the Cayman in this thread, you won't get it from an Elise. They Cayman of a few years ago are not the Cayman now.

Gruppy, for sure, no comparison at all between a street car and a Radical or its ilk.

Wolf Thunder has a list of ~$100K.

Seems like an amazing track toy. Can you imagine the scream of a 12,500 RPM redline engine behind you? Goosebumps just fantasizing about that

With all these changes, the new 718 Cayman GT4 is 10 seconds quicker around the NŁrburgring Nordschleife than its predecessor. That means it should run a 7:30 around the 13-mile circuit, which is about five seconds off a new 911 Carrera S. Not bad for a car you have to shift yourself.

ricing starts at $97,550 for the Boxster Spyder and $100,450 for the Cayman GT4 including a $1250 destination fee. That's around $15,000 more than each of their predecessors, but both are still far cheaper than the nearly $145,000 911 GT3. To say nothing of the $276,000 Speedster. Unlike before, production for these cars won't be limited, and dealer order books are open now with Spring 2020 deliveries targeted.

I was hoping/expecting that the Gt4 would have a detuned 450hp Gt3 engine, in other words a real rever, and a shirter ratio gearbox. That would be a very compelling machine.
What the "new" Gt4 is appears to be what the regular cayman should have been in the first place if porche was not so obsessed with protecting the 911. In fact why wouldnt you just get a 911T.
Cylinder decativation, stop start, have no place in a "tack" or track capable car.

Im expecting the "new lotus" to make a 400+hp 2500lbs car, that would be interesting.

The Gt4, its just a porker, cool street car but whats really compelling here. Seems like they just phoned it in. the boxter spyder version is at least a cool roadster.

In a months time we'll see the new mid engined vette, that may at some point in the future have some interesting light iterations that work on track.

To me the most interesting new car in the cayman category is the alpine 110, I cant see getting any cayman over that, other than we cant get one in the usa.
