Peking to Paris in Austin Healey

Some of you may have seen my previous stories on this forum - My 2012 trip round the USA and up the Dalton Highway to the Alaskan Arcitc Circle in my little Elise S1, and then my 2014 trip from Prudoe Bay via Central America down to Ushuaia, my 2015 trip through Europe and N Africa, and lastly my trip from Nova Scotia across to Anacortes WA in 2016. Well, I think I just hit the jackpot this time - I have been asked to co-drive a 1954 Austin Healey 100/4 on the 36 day 2019 Peking to Paris Rally, crossing China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, up to Moscow, then down through Poland and Lithuania, through Germany and on to Paris.
We have 18 months to totally prepare the car to travel across the Gobi Desert with minimal roads so it can survive the journey.
Should be a hoot - We are so excited about it. You can see lots more at the official event website here http://
or you can follow our adventure here Peking to Paris 2019
We will be on Facebook etc shortly.
Come and enjoy our adventure with us !!

Totally jelly. What an opportunity for adventure.

Can't really imagine how you'd prepare for this. Maybe eat a lot.

Anyone can make something complicated. It takes genius to make it simple. Einstein.
