Your Age and How Many Cars You've Owned

Compared to my friends and family I'm the "crazy car guy", but I'm sure there are people here who have me beat by a long shot. Regardless, here's my list. I currently own 4 cars and 1 motorhome. S/O has 2 cars too so the driveway and garage is full.

I am 38 years old and have owned 45 vehicles to date (not counting 5 motorcycles), nearly every one highly modified or restored:
1. 1983 Datsun Stanza (1st car! )

I tend to keep my cars for a long time. I'm 38 and I've only sold 2 cars, now have 4.

87 Camry - My first car and it served me well for 3-4 years. Sold for $600 and it was in rough, VERY rough shape @ 160K miles.

94 Saturn - I acquired this vehicle along with my wife. I think she owned it for around 10 years total, but I was driving it the most for the last 3 years or so we had it. It was sold for $800, also in rough condition. True mileage was unknown but I would guess 200K.

98 BMW M Roadster - Still have it (~5 years, been "in the family" for ~16 years). I need to sell it but enjoy driving it. It's up to 195K miles.

05 Lotus Elise - Still have it (<2 years), 75K miles, 400 hp, 1944 pounds. If I sell this one, I hope it is to get into a real race car.

04 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Still have it (~11 years), probably will get a lower mileage family hauler, and keep this as a backup. This has been a fantastic vehicle with 235K miles on it.

95 Nissan 240SX - Still have it (~18 years), hope I never sell it. Around 155K miles.

heh, fun topic. 32 and had a moderate amount of cars in my opinion.

1. 1998 Ford Ranger- Fun, 4.0 5spd, still miss it.
2. 2001 F150 Supercrew- fine, didn't last too long, don't really miss it.
3. 2005 Lexus IS300(5 speed)- LOVED this car, had it the longest(10ish years). Tried to keep it forever but didn't work out
4. 2014 Fiat 500e- Lease, fun, affordable, easy little car. If the electrics were priced closer to their gas rivals I would have bought it
5. 1999 Dodge 2500 Diesel- Had a couple of these via family trucks with my parents. Eventually got my own. Probably "never" selling
6. 2011 Evora- my "reasonable dream car". Not goin anywhere
7. 2017 Fiat 500e- Lease, being returned under lemon law soon though
8. ???

I'd probably have more had I not fallen in love with the IS300.

32, nothing too crazy...all the small cars were highly modified. The big cars I used like a daily and for work. Plan to keep the Elise for awhile until something else excites me...perhaps a roadster version of the Evora. I'll keep the Titan until it's no longer fit for work. Then I'll just get another used/cheap pickup. I'd much rather prefer a more comfortable and commuter friendly daily.

1986.5 Toyota Supra N/A
1997 GTi VR6
2002 Jeep Wrangler 3.0
1995 Cabrio 1.8T
1999 Nissan Frontier Kingcab
2002 Mazda Miata Turbo
2005 Nissan Titan Kingcab (current)
2007 Lotus Elise (current)

28 Years old

First car: given to me by my parents in 2006
1990 Lexus LS400 named: "Sexy Black"
Drove through college until my first year of work

2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI 5spd manual named: "Teddy"
Replaced my Lexus because I had a 30+ mile commute and 17-19 mpg on premium was not fun
Paid for itself in gas savings from my Lexus in 1.5 years

2005 Lotus Elise: Graphite Grey
Dream car purchased due to my bucket list entry of owning one before the age of 25

2009 Suzuki SX4 Sport Sedan Automatic named: "Justine"
Purchased during a winter when my Glow plugs on my Jetta died and broke during extraction. Was going to wait until nicer weather to fix the Jetta, drove it for a year and a half before giving this car to my sister and going back to the Jetta.

2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI 6spd manual named: Loretta or "Retta" (Red-Jetta)
replaced my then money pit of a 2000 Jetta with 33x,xxx+ miles and picked this car up, which i drove for about a year before Dieselgate happened.
got bought back for profit

2007 Toyota Yaris Hatchback S Automatic
bought with some of my sweet dieselgate money
Little crapbox commuter that does its job of its 40+ mile commute

Got married:

2009 Hyundai sonata v6 Automatic - had 62,xxx miles before being totalled by a tree that scratched up my Elise which was next to it in late may 2017
only got 7k$ for it, which will go to paying a down payment on a probably Lexus RX350

Lotus Elise '05 Graphite Grey; Miles: 41,xxx

30 here, and I also keep vehicles for a while so I don't have a very long list.

'95 Miata which got me through high school and college

Various motorcycles along the way

'05 Elise which will stay with me until the next Exige comes across the pond

'15 Fiat Abarth which is objectively a pile of junk, but I picked it up for dirt cheap and it's quite fun with roughly 200hp

2005 Nightfall Blue Elise: Sport, Touring, Quantum Zeros, Pro Alloy, BWR De-Cat, Stage II, BOE Torque200 tune

Turned 67 in April , stopped counting at 70 cars & trucks. Wouldn't think of boring you with all those cars. So here's the highlights. 1st car, 59 Volvo 544, first family car 1968 Volvo 122S wagon. Many Volvo cars to follow in the 70s and 80s. The one I should've kept was a 1952 Chevy, bought it in 1975 with 7000 original miles! First performance car 1988 BMW 535 IS. One of my favorites 1997 BMW M3, much better car than my 2003 M3. Went through a couple of Subarus, a WRX, graduated to an STI . Got hit head on in my 2006 Honda S2000, turned it in back to Honda after a three year lease. didn't want to keep a car with a $17,000 repair. My wife's daily driver BMW 335D, never under estimate 430 foot pounds of torque. Now to the holy Grail, 2009 Lotus Elise purist, sold it on Lotustalk (thanks!) As for my current new baby, 2008 Exige! Just turned 5000 miles and getting the itch for a new M2, probably regret selling it. I don't want to say the BMW is an old man's car, but a little more practical for someone close to 70. Rustyb

Recently turned 27, I joined the forum at 23 when I bought my Exige. Bought my first car at 17 and since then have owned 10 cars.

1. Mitsubishi Mirage. I turned this into a full-on Evo 6 rally car. I still own this and am working on it to this day.
2. Mk4 Classic Mini. Bought in an impulse, car caught fire one day while I was working on it. Would like another some day.
3. Mazda RX7 FD. A great GT car, a bit low on power but the skinny wheels and tires from the factory made it fun. Engine blew up 3 weeks after I sold it.
4. Lotus Exige. Bought an 06' model and bumped it up to full 07' S spec. Owned it for almost 2 years, great car but not for me at the time. Regret selling it now.
5. Audi S6 Avant. Worst car I have ever owned. V8 6-speed was fun but the ECU fried itself after water entered the cabin through the air con ducts and flooded the floor. Will never own another modern Audi.
6. Subaru WRX STi. Managed to fix the Audi and trade it straight across for this. Made for a decent daily but the horrible quality interior really got to me.
7. Subaru Impreza. Basically just a dumbed down version of the WRX. Made for a nice daily driver, but got terrible gas mileage.
8. Porsche 944. Mainly bought it to say I owned a Porsche. Drive just fine but it could have really used an exhaust and a turbo.
9. Acura Integra. Bought this little coupe for a cheap daily. Windows stopped working shortly thereafter.
10. Autozam AZ-1. Finally went back to my crazy roots, you can see this car in my other thread. Very small, very fun.

From here on out I hope to never again own a basic commuter car. They're really quite soul-crushing.

52 and no clue. I have owned many motorcycles over the years as well, not including those.

I started driving in 1978, yes back then you could get your license at 14 years if you took drivers ed. My very first vehicle was a crapy Ford Courier. I think it was a 1974. I bought that shortly after I started driving.

When I was young I would buy a car, drive it for a few months, then sell it and buy another. Notable (that come to mind) I owned several Mustangs (67 fastback, 69 coupe, 70 fastback) a Cougar (69) a 1970 Chevelle, 280Zx, My pride and Joy was a 1972 CJ5 with the 304 V8 heck I can go on but I just can't remember. Many of these I wished I had held on to but unfortunately I have never held on to cars too long. I know there were other muscle cars as well but they escape me.

Just counting since I was married 16 years ago I have owned 18 cars. I am trying to remember these and the years but I could be off on some. This also doesn't include cars I bought for my kids.

97 Acura Integra Type R
98 Ford Ranger
2000 Ford Ranger 4x4
2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 (WJ) Lifted big tires yada yada
2002 Acura CL Type S
2001 Honda Civic
2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (TJ)
2006 Jeep Liberty Limited (KJ)
2003 Jaguar X Type AWD
2010 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon
2014 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon
2010 Infinity G37 IPL
2010 370z Sport
2010 Cayman S
2014 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk
2014 Mercedes 250
2016 Mercedes C300

and of course the best for last
2010 Lotus Evora

The longest I have owned a vehicle was nearly 7 years with my TJ (Where my Tazicon nick name comes from). That Jeep and I had a long history with many Moab trips. Tons of blood sweat and tears went into it along with lots of money. My CJ and my TJ are the 2 vehicles I miss the most.
