Clearly, I don't qualify as a "car guy". I'm 58. I still own half the cars I ever bought.

1978 Plymouth Arrow (Mitsubishi) [Bought new, traded in with 192,000 miles on the clock.]
1987 Pontiac Grand Am [Bought new, sold with 135,000 miles]
1999 Chrysler 300M [Bought new, still own, 170,000 miles]
2006 Lotus Elise [Bought used; had 17,000 when purchased, now 70,000 miles]

I suppose you could add one to the list. It's the "hand-me-down" car that was never titled in my name:
1967 Chrysler Imperial Crown [Sold with 145,000 miles, but I probably only logged the last 15k]

I've got work to do...

...compared to some of you, but my list reveals a sort of geographic evolution. I'm 57 and need to get busy in order to own more of my bucket list of cars.

My personal cars, in order of ownership...

Begins with a 1974 Mercury Capri.

Moves on to the Italian period:
1987 Alfa Romeo Milano
1990 Alfa Romeo 164L
1994 Alfa Romeo 164LS
1969 Alfa Romeo Spider

Then shifts to the German period:
2001 Audi TT
2000 Porsche Boxster
2006 Porsche 911S

And most recently, my 2005 Elise, along with a Jeep Grand Cherokee for daily driving.

I would add that there were three company cars during the 80s that will remain nameless, but help explain why the Oldsmobile brand no longer exists.

After the first post I figured I'd have some work to do. When I finished adding them up it wasn't too bad. I'm 41. This is my list in chronological order - still have the ones in bold

1. 86 Nissan Micra - 987cc of bliss
2. 87 Audi coupe GT - ended up not being able to afford insurance and sold on
3. 86 Audi 80 - crashed
4. 83 Audi 80; metallic brown with brown velour - pure class - bought while 3 was being repaired
5. 92 Camry; first car in US
6. 98 Audi A4 quattro - timing belt broke and destroyed engine, rebuilt and traded on
7. 03 Audi TT 225 - totaled from hitting deer
8. 06 Audi A4 quattro - totaled from hail storm
9. 08 Subaru STI - sold after 6 months as it was too much as a DD.......
10. 06 Elise
11. 08 Audi TT 3.2 - sold out when warranty expired as potential repairs scared me
12. 12 Passat - bought to save up for Evora, bored the sh*t out of me so it didn't last long
13. 14 Audi A5 quattro
14. 13 Evora S
15. 14 Mini Countryman S All4

I don't plan on adding to / changing this for a while but I really have a thing for the Guilia that I can't shake

I absolutely LOVE the old Audi Quattros. I rallied a 4000 Quattro up at Team O'Neil rally school last summer, and that thing was a TANK. Super fun car to drive.

Pity they got too old, The 84 with the locking diffs was unstoppable.

Funny Story
Neighbor had our common driveway plowed one year, they used a 2WD dually. he overran his pile heading downhill towards her garage.

I got a chain and drove up behind him.

'You gonna pull me out with that?'
'Yup'

And I did.

The A4 handled better but never felt as butch as the 4000Q
