Major parts of the fire suppression system installed today, nozzles and plumbing when I get around to it. The tank was 12.8 lbs pressurized, just 4 lbs now. Not bad IMO. Fits perfect in the front of the footwell where the foot rest used to be. Floor mat covers the bottom of the bracket too, which is great.

So you discharged the tank? You are installing an empty system?

Yes, discharged the tank, and yes, installing an empty system.

I'm not building a car to race, I'm building a clone for the street. All of the systems will be functional, but they will not be live, no need for them to be.

It's a custom piece from Tecnocraft Composites. The only one of its kind I believe.

You just need to make a rolling under car shop light now. Still on my list to do...

Looking good and I cannot imagine the time spend planning and shopping for all these parts.

That looks pretty cool. But I really don't work on my car much, it's just that when I do, I like to be comfortable. Putting my shop in the basement was the best thing I ever did for that, so so nice.

Some parts have been easy, some have been very hard, and some are just no longer available at any cost. It's a labor of love, really, the car is turning out just how I always saw it. Once the brakes, roof, and seats are sorted then I'll be almost there. Still unsure if I'm doing a REV300 or leaving it NA.

Quick snap from the park tonight. Really loving these little bits I've added. Time for some wider slicks though. It's too bad the 245 A6 is no longer made, have to get the skinnier 225 A7.

Very cool build. Id encourage you to take it to at least an autocross to push the car. Those parts are going to really shine when its all dialed in

Nice work on the build, your attention to detail is awesome.
As to power, get a test drive in a BOE300/400 car. It'll change your mind.

The caliper on the RIGHT is the old 7624 caliper used on the Cup 240/255 cars. This is a true motorsport caliper, and requires an adapter to fit. It's semi-gloss black, and has a debossed logo. It's made to fit the 308mm rotor.

Fit/finish/build quality between the two are night and day. I literally wouldn't even own the new 7635, they were sent to me by mistake.
Quick post: Where did you get the 7624 set? What's the diameter of the rotors - 308, 315mm? Thank you. I have to read the rest of this thread later.

Thank you. I've done auto-x in the past, and don't enjoy it. I might do an HPDE here or there, but really, to me those things are like being trapped in a washing machine. I have great fun on my smooth back-roads.

Thank you. I love the increase in power/driveability with the tune I have, so I know I'd love more. However, as with money, more power is more problems. I feel like, in the cars present state, I can push it a little and not be punished for any mistakes I might make. With 300 hp on tap I'm not sure that'd be true. I'll talk to Phil about it at some point for sure, I've wanted the REV300 since I got the car 9 years ago.

I sourced them direct from Lotus, and they were literally the last set they had, I can't even get rears myself...at the moment. They are 308mm, Lotus never offered 315 or 330, those were made by AP Racing in their 5950 kit.

I was searching as saw quite a few of these 5950 kits. These kits include the new 7635 caliper? Some of these kits look identical, but are $400/500 difference. It's funny, IIRC the smaller rotor kit was the more expensive one. And the 08+ Exiges all use the 7635 - i think you stated above.

I'm just going to buy a set for the front and move the front 2 piston to the rear. You have to retain the original rear brake to keep the function of the e-brake or can the e-brake function with the 2-piston alone? Thank you

Oh BTW, the red lettering looks best in your mock up. That's my plan -gloss black with red letters.

I'm not sure if the 5950 kit had the 7635 caliper or one similar, I can only say that they definitely didn't have the Motorsport 7624 caliper.

Yeah, not sure about that, but all of the '08+ Exige cars were supposed to have the 7635 for sure, but you know Lotus, there were definitely some stragglers.

That's what most of the track guys are doing, BBK in the front and stock 2-pot to the rear. If you're going that route you have to have a separate e-brake, either the stock, or something similar, the 2-pot can't function as the e-brake.

Power doesn't seduce me like it does most people, so I'm not so sure.

And as far as building a Cup car, in 2006 Lotus built an N/A Cup 190 and a Cup 240. The 190 is by far the rarer car. In fact, I think there were only 7 made worldwide. At least 15 240 Cup's came to the USA alone.

If I were going for rare, I'd build the Cup 190, but I'm building what I think is the ultimate Cup car (within reason), using all sorts of Cup and standard parts.
