hey andrew, love the quarry pics...

i notice in some of your shots you car is shod in what looks like slick tyres...
can/do you use these on the road over there? or just on the track
either way they certainly make the car look very cool in the pics..

Yes, they are the original A005 Cup car slicks the car is wearing. And yes, that's what the car wears in the Summer, on the street.

And yes, people have told me that it's extremely unsafe, and that the car would explode if I did it. And guess what? No explosion.

In fact, the car drives fantastic on the street with slicks...even....***GASP***...in the rain...***GASP***

It's rare that I drive it in rain, just the odd shower on my way home from a shoot, but when I do it's just fine.

And no, it's not legal. But what care I for legal? Is this car really legal at all???

So, I'm not recommending people use slicks on the street, but they work fine for me.

P.S. I'm also a wheel/tire whore, and have 4 sets at any given moment that I can swap to if I'm planning on going highway speeds.

The basement workshop is in a shambles, but I had to take a pic of the Monolites installed.

This set is 17x8 +31 all the way around. Tires are Yokohama AD08R in 215/40/17 & 235/40/17. In the pic the front looks a bit large, and the rear a bit small, but it's mostly just a trick of light and camera, in real life they look smokin' hot, and totally the business.

These will serve as my street set, so they are not totally Cup related, but 6.6 lbs lighter than the 240R wheels, and forged, so still firmly in my racing-car/Cup wheelhouse.

A huge THANK YOU to Inokinetic for the wheels.

I also decided that I didn't like how "edgy" the Lotus Sport decal looked on the fender, so I swapped them with "Cup" decals from the rear of the original Cup cars. It's a minimal difference, but I think it's much improved.

Love the monolites! I wish they came in bronze. I wonder if Shinoo can powdercoat a special set for me.

I'm sure he could get that done for you, he's pretty tight with the automotive community. I'm sure there are businesses out there than can do a powder-coating that isn't so high heat, retaining the original strength of the wheel.

For sure. When it comes to bronze I REALLY like the darker, shinier versions. I don't know how many times I have considered painting my Cup wheels this color, but it's been a hell of a lot.

I love dark bronze but a satin or matte finish though. And yes I even thought about getting another set of cup wheels just to refinish them in bronze. I had the chance back a couple of years ago when they were selling on eBay for
$1800 for a brand new set. I知 glad I got my one set in black but I知 kicking myself now for not getting another set.

No. For the cup 240 wheels. The same wheels that you had the group buy.

Oh yeah, I think I remember that. VSA had some they were dumping, right? Such a steal. That last black set I tried to sell that nobody wanted, they ended up selling for over $3K.

I知 not sure who was selling, but I just remembered they shipped from Canada. It was such an awesome deal. They had both black and silver sets. I regret not buying another set.

Sure regret selling off my LotusSport floor mats years ago when we went full track. Now that we are back to street (more or less) I壇 love to have them back. Yours look great.

Anyone out there have any to part with?

Anyone can make something complicated. It takes genius to make it simple. Einstein.

Could you share your source for: (Front headlight black-out kit (I'll install the covers from Simon Oakley on top of the lights for easy removal)

I would love to this too.

thanks
