Intercooler Heat Shield - Template Wanted

Do any of you have a template with dimensions or non-angled top and bottom and side pictures I could use to make an intercooler heat shield for an Exige S? I couldn't find a reliable supplier offering these.

RLS indicates the two larger holes give some sort of access. The BOE intercooler doesn't appear to have a need for these and the original pictures in the post above doesn't have them. Thank you for the point.

Well you could just Take a thick paper and make an own Prototype. When you're done you can rebuild it from a sheet of Aluminium.

This is how i did it.

My biggest problem is to loosen the rubber bumpers between the intercooler and the brackets without destroying them.

I have an extra RLS carbon intercooler heat shield with the NASA designed gold heatshield on the underside. It's in better shape than mine, but I'm too lazy to swap them. PM me if you're interested. PM me if you're not interested and I'll take a picture and post the dimensions.

My pleasure. If you need anything else specific, please don't hesitate to ask. I believe this part is sold, so I will probably only have it in my posession for a few more days. I didn't realize it was no longer available.

Basic template. All measurements are from edge to edge or edge to center of hole. I'd recommend making a template out of paper/cardboard first and checking for fitment.

This is why I love this forum. Can you believe San physically mailed me a template so I could make my own intercooler heat shield. I have to buy a bigger piece of aluminum now that I have the right dimensions! I'm part of other car forums and and can tell you this would never happen. (I'm still upset that my 1LE can walk my track prepped Exige on the factory tires)

We are a small community with low/no factory support. There are just a few aftermarket suppliers and we need to make every effort to support them. I've been to the BOE shop a couple of times to pick up parts and I'm telling you there is nothing more genuine. I've received the excellent service from Sector111 and now inoKinetic and Blackwatch Racing. Anything that keeps this great driving and track experience alive is fantastic for all of us.

How easy would it be for us to default to the newest Z06.....but we don't.

Glad to see you got it. I put together a basic template last night and posted it up as well. Good luck!

It took me a little bit but I was able to fashion the intercooler heat shield out of 6061 T6 .05" sheet aluminum from onlinemetals.com.

I made a second one to pay forward San's help with the template. I can ship it out anywhere in the US once I get an appropriate size box. It may take some time for you to get it but it's free to a good home

Love this place too man,

I always never got a full answer back from Thomasio's "research" about the effectiveness.

I got the same one from RLS, can't help but believe it helps some, but man was kinda pricey in the day...

I just often wonder, in a quantifiable way how much it might lower heat, or for how long before it becomes negligible with intercooler . I suppose that won't be answered, cause I'm sure not going to try to figure it out!

The jury certain placed the verdict on the 3way shroud with side scoops... A YES all the way.

Not meaning to be rude, but I seriously cannot imagine how quickly the oem setup heatsoaks with normal spirited driving? Maybe I can... Enough to support multiple vendors attempting to address it...

For me, it is just like the oem shift mess, You throw the kitchen sink at it, and then go meh, now its ok... I mean everything short of LETSA or the swank version ( forgot name)

I have one here, if it's not too hard to add and remove I will try to do some before and after testing next weekend. Should be good consistent weather between sessions.

2007 Exige S with almost every track mod...
