Arrow Looking for international shipper from USA to Okinawa Japan, 1 car, July 2011

Hey folks, some of you may know me from my "Lotus Cars Wanted" - "*****2005 -2006 Elise; purchase date: July 2011 -- $25K +/- range***** post.

Well I'm needing to start
working on another part
of the puzzle and that
being a shipping company
that will ship from the
west coast to Okinawa
Japan.

I've put in a request for a quote with this company: Bidux LLC :: Welcome and
they said they'd get back to me with a price, but I'd be the laughing
stock of the forums here is I did not shop around for no less than
three solid bids. Only problem is I can't find any other companies
that advertise like Bidux LLC :: Welcome does. Other companies
are like general shipping; boxes, furniture, over sized purchases, etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Any POC info is really appreciated.

Regards, SGT_Okinawa

Again, if anyone knows of reputable shippers who deal in international shipping, please PM or post, thanks.

--------

Can I post notes to myself on LT, or is that a no no?

UPDATE: (AS OF 31 JULY 2010)

Some LT members have been nice enough to PM some suggestions:

Cosdel | Official Web Site

All Shore Forwarders, Ltd. - International Shipping Company

I've sent quote requests to both, waiting for replies.

Peace!

Just had my z06 shipped to germany. Buyer didn't state who was doing the shipping but let me try to get a hold of him and see if he can tell me. They picked the car up here in sacramento and took it to florida and I guess thats were they were gonna put it on a boat.

I don't have a specific shipper to recommend, but you could also try asking local car dealerships and specialty shops if they would recommend anyone.

Oh dear, being here in Okinawa, 99.0% of dealers get their cars from mainland Japan and have them shipped down by the bucket-loads. But I'll ask a few.

I've gotten some great ideas and links from the www . movecars . com site, and another LT member suggested Trans Global Logistics: www . tgal . us

This is good to start now, I've got a lot of homework to do.

Peace!

Ahh, it occurs to me that I used a shipper to transport my kit car from England to the US. I could probably recommend them. Send me a PM I'll get you their contact information. I don't know if they ship cars though (my kit came in a car sized box.) But it might be worth a shot.

Why don't you use a local car shipper that offers international trans? There's plenty that have offices in cities around the U.S., just make sure they know what they're doing with international law, ports, taxes, etc. I'd try Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) or A-1 Auto Transport, Inc. if you want a stateside company that knows what they're doing in international waters & foreign countries.
