WTB: Montrose Enclosed Trailer

I'm interested in purchasing your reasonably priced Montrose enclosed aluminum trailer to transport the Lotus. I'm in NW Fl. but can and will travel reasonable distance fro pickup.
I have a 2011 16' Anderson open trailer that I would like to sell or trade.

Please contact at: [email protected]

I have been casually looking for one of these too... A used Montrose seems to be a very uncommon thing. It makes me wonder if people tend to keep them, and maybe when they do sell all their track buddies are lined up to buy it from them? Just a guess.

Saw this setup at VIR - fantastic rig. I'd guess as suggested that when they do go their track buddies are already iined up. My trailer is nothing special but I already have folks that want it...

Very intelligent design. Makes mine look like a trash barge.

Out of curiosity, what's one, new, set up as in Ross' vid run? $12k? $15k?

I think they are that much - but it's not mine, it's RBH's (sorry I can't remember your name, I'm so terrible with names!). Mine is a trash barge like yours

Have you considered a Serpent Express trailer? Its basically an open trailer with a Vinyl top that fits over a metal frame. Not as secure as a Montrose but is covered and will be easy to pull

Don't know about Chuck.... but I would write RBH a check for 10K and come pick his trailer up Sounds like I would be standing in line for that deal.

Anyone on here have actual experience with a Serpent Express or know someone that has one? I have never seen one in person. It certainly is a cheaper route to go but you lose some security and functionality.

Is quite popular with the Cobra crowd. I was considering one but ended up getting an outrageous deal on an open trailer instead.

It was about 16K, including delivery from Michigan to Washington DC area. This one is extra wide. I can pull in and out of it with my eyes closed

I have one of the Montrose full clamshell trailers.

I would consider selling it to buy a larger trailer to fit two cars.

I will post a picture of it tonight.

Cool, thanks. They are intriguing.... I would like a regular enclosed trailer, but one of these would probably work great for me.

Ok, Here is my trailer, but I would have to get $9000 for it to make any sense for me to do this. Another two car hauler would cost me that, maybe more.

Very cool trailer. I have never seen one like it. The full clam is like an engagement ring box for your car. It seems like tying down would be easy since it is unobstructed....mostly. I have visions of using the trailer to get out of the direct sun and/or rain at times. It seems like it would not be as good for that sort of thing. thanks for posting the pics! Love the Lotus emblem on there too!

It just fits an Exige, Elise, Esprit. It has electric brakes.

Max weightappears to be 4800lbs. . Trailer weighs about 1600 lbs

One I think did go for $7500, but I believe that was before the big rise in aluminum prices. Back then these were selling for like 12,000 new. Now they are more. It appears to me that Montrose has been pretty fair on pricing with their increases tied to the rise in materials cost. Still have mine and still would consider selling for the right offer. I still want a larger enclosed to haul 2 Caterhams at least.
