There was also a guy in Europe who put a BMW V10 in; it seems that your best bet is to just throw out the entire rear subframe and start from scratch as that opens your options up tremendously. From that point, the bodywork is the limit, and it has plenty of room (especially if you lose the trunk).

Personally not in favour of extending the chassis . I would like to retain the quick nimble handling that the Lotus chassis is known for and perhaps enhance it by lighter weight and more weight forward.

too much work for too little gain. You can get alot of power out 2zz 450 and it you want more a k20 will go higher. it is pretty engine. but that is it

Very valid points ... Actually I think Phil at BOE has gone beyond the 450 WHP now with his latest long rod engine.
And yes fairly straight forward these days to get a K20 into the 600HP .
But have to admit the sound of a high revving V8 connected to a sequential box plus the pure fun of driving it is very enticing !!

If you are going for power, what about Falconer?

If you build this would the car ever leave New Zealand?
It would be incredible to see and hear a small displacement
V8. This is an ambitious build and I hope you are able to
bring it to fruition.
