Let's hope they skip the hybrid BS and just build a normal car. Less weight the better.

Those aren't concept pictures, they're random photoshop renderings.

DaveR, that pic and other similar ones are at least 4 years old and although I agree with you that we all can't wait until the "real" pics are available. This was just someones wet dream..albeit a good one

As I'm sure you're aware of (seeing you've sold Lotus for sometime now), Lotus NEVER releases any photos or hints of any photos until near production.
There's even a convertible version of the white pic you posted somewhere here:

More like a Photoshop of a Lambo and an Elise. As mentioned, those pics are at least four year old artist renderings. Not even close to official, and well before the new Lotus design language was finished and released.

Dont believe anything until Lotus shows you pictures.

Here is what Road and Track said that the Evora would look like 3 months before Lotus unveiled it at the London auto show.

Now that the Evora is officially released, I'd be VERY surprised if Lotus makes another generation Esprit for general production. Unless they plan to drop the Elise / Exige series, I just don't see it happening anywhere in the near future.

Lotus simply does not have the resources to be in production with more than 2 models at the same time ---- let alone be capable of development of an entirely new car while 2 models are in production.

On the other hand, if they (Lotus) end up taking on a partner or strike a deal with a new financial backer (now that GM has gone bye bye) to get a cash infusion, maybe a new Esprit will be possible.

Also, an Esprit might happen if it ends up being heavily leveraged off the Evora platform ---- in other words, nothing more than an Evora variant.

Frankly, I think we've seen the end of the Esprit era as of 2004.
