Okay, interesting stuff so far! Sounds like a chip upgrade isn't a possibility, so let's look into........aftermarket liquid-to-air intercoolers. Anyone tried one on a non chargecooled car? I understand it would require a tune to maximize the boost after install. I think I have a lead to a good tuning shop here in Lincoln. Love the knowledge in this group, looking forward to any responses that may help. Thanks!

Anyone had an experience with the "torque" chip?
Or... have one "laying around" somewhere in the junk drawer?

I have a chip, just not sure which one it is. I'll go digging out in the garage tomorrow. If it's the hi-torque chip I'll let you know.

I found it. It's labeled High Torque SE/S4/S4S 1.1 bar. It's been hanging out in my garage for at least 10 years. Yours if you want.

To use it you must remove the current chip and install a chip socket (or just solder the chip in). Not an easy job. Typically, to get the HTU, at least for the V-8, you send the whole ECU to Lotus and they reflash it.
