Yeah, that's the main disadvantage to the inline 6! Length. Inherently balanced from the config is a nice added plus! Someday I will have an old 240Z and put a nice clean RB25 in it! Some day! As for the mustang V8, sure it's a fantastic engine, makes nearly 500hp at the crank, but it's a 90 degree V8, way too wide to fit comfortably in our engine compartments with twin turbos as would be my stipulation to taking the time to transplant a V8 into mine! Or just get a V8! Stick with the exotic engine that belongs! There is nothing exotic about any mustang! Not even a shelby! I see mustangs every minute of every day. I have seen another Esprit only within the last 2 months....That's rare, and that's what I love about my Esprit! Hell, I see more Gallardo's and Diablo's here in KC than I do Esprits! Keep your Mustang engine right where it belongs in ANOTHER mustang!
