I could believe 40-50 with the engine rebuild, shock package, transaxle mods, and intercoolers. 100? nah...

To spend all that money and leave off the front splitters seems pretty retarded.

The stance of the car is ruining the look, which doesn't help resale. It looks too high in last picture by the tree.

I don't see how he dumped $100k in modifications but I hope it was a lot of fun because a stock 2003 would probably be worth more to everyone else.

Two tone doesnt look bad though I'm always put off by sellers who dont own up to such obvious non factory modifications..

IMO the 2 tone would look better with the colors flipped. But I am not a fan of the Foose-style 2 tone look on sports cars anyway.

Also not a fan of sellers passing off their maintenance issues as "normal" for the car. My 2 Esprits have never leaked anything.

Agreed, the colors should be flipped, it would look better. I think that customized paint will cost him a little in resale. My first choice for an Esprit would be azure blue, orange, or calypso red.

Yeah, Ive seen the "normal" card get played on other exotics too - like the vaunted Ferrari 308 2nd gear synchro being difficult. Well, a weak synchro aint OK with me and it signals a gearbox rebuild is coming down the pipe. Eff that.

Esprits are no different - I remember many instances of sellers when I was shopping, playing that stuff on me. Electrical gremlins, stuff not working, whatever. I always felt that everything should work on a car and if it doesnt then its not cool with me.

This is one of those that's been on eBay many times before. I thought it sold. If it did, it's always fishy how some cars sell but end up back on eBay again with the same seller. It makes me think that the buyer found something glaringly wrong with the car after seeing it in person.

That '88 looks wonderful..... Most Lotus's on ebay go around two or three times before they sell. Biggest problems are not the car, but the wife, or the bank.

You can have great credit, and most banks will laugh at you wanting to buy a pre 2002 anything, because most banks have the intelligence of a pet rock, and most people are not aware of collector car financing.

I had my financing in place and approved before I ever bid on hussie. As a matter of fact, I had three sources approved. But you still have to be careful. Ebay was pushing roadloans at the time, used their link on the auction, and applied, and got approved. Called them the next day to verify, and even they would not touch a 1995, so I went with Woodside Credit, they are one of the best (rate and term) on collector car financing.

Hmmm.... I distinctly remember that car with those exact same pics in San Antonio for sale last year on eBay. I believe it sold. Wonder what's the story.

It says no accident damage, but that front bumper looks like it's taken a hit.
