Removing rear side markers

Has anyone remove the rear side markers from their Esprit?

I have not spent a lot of time on this - but was able to get my finger on the backend of the housing - going in from the trunk.

I need to remove them - looking at adding fender flares and i'll need to relocate them a few inches back.

If you mean the rear marker lights in the bumper, they're pretty easy to remove. The lenses come out with a pair of screws and then the rest of the assembly pops out.

Red Rear Side marker lights.

My experience with these was that they are VERY DIFFICULT.

The one on the right rear requires the removal of the battery first. Then you have to try to loosen the two nuts by getting a wrench thru a small access hole. The lens is a one-piece unit.

I did not find the screws were capable of being turned from the outside of the car to release the assembly. Thus, I had to try to reach the nuts holding it in from inside.

NOT a job which I would like to repeat!
