I love the amber in the factory lights...can't figure out why you guys don't like it...in fact, I'll go so far as to say that the business end of an Esprit with the factory Toyota tails is the best view...

Not much to be honest. I hit it with prepaint liquid a couple of times to make sure all the grease and dirt was removed, then painted.

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

I like the factory amber too, but more for safety reasons (more visible to people behind me when changing lanes).

I do agree however with MRDANGERUS that from an asthetic point of view, the amber is not as strong as all-red lenses.

And I agree...the fewer the number of colors, the more congruous the rear end.

Custom or factory stock...I love it all though

Ahhh, but what if it's one of those "do nothing congruous" that people complain about?

And Roy, I've been a proponent of the "wingless look" for more than 15 years...

I think the "white line" Toyota E86 tail lights would look nice on a dark Esprit.
Except the plinth, they are a direct bolt-on replacement parts.

The Toyota E86 taillights don't seem to be 100% bolt on? What about the upper 'tab' on the Lotus Toyota taillights? The Toyota E86 taillights don't have that.

You're right, but there are several versions of AE86 lights (on eBay), some with and some without the tab. I have eliminated the OE plinth (cheap warped vac-formed part) and fabricated the middle piece to fill up the gap.

Original lights are too "massive" and too tall, that's why I went for the "red stripe" Kouki.
