If you search this forum for wrinkle paint, someting may come up. Or eventually take a look at the lotus forums.
Kind regards,

Hi, if you do a search on wrinkle paint, something may come up even therrect sem orange red shade. Eventually take a look on the lotus forum. Or get in touch with the Company who did it for Lotus. They are based just opposite the Lotus factory.
Kind regards,
Redfox.

Rich,

From years ago, I remember that painters should use Chevy Engine Orange, then 'dust' the piece with Chrysler Engine Red. (Engine paints supposedly can withstand high temps)

BUT powder coat is different.

When I had all my intake pieces powder coated, the guy said they used 'Ferrari Engine Red'. I think he was just trying to increase the price, LOL.
(Actually, my powder coat guy gave me a great price, recommended by jtrealty and others.)

Don't forget to scuff it up a bit so that the paint has something to 'bite'.

I used PJ1 crinkle black. I will find a pic. Not an exact match but one installed it looks good.

First come, first served.
Just found this offer for the extra spacers. Is one still available? I want it if it is!

Sorry to say, that they are all gone for months now. I do have CAD drawings if you want to find a local water jet shop and get a quote.

Okay, yes please. If it's not too much trouble I would appreciate the CAD drawings.

Thanks!

Has anyone noticed any difference in engine performance with the spacer installed?

Seems like it would be fairly easy to do a couple dyno runs with and without.

While ago, I bought one CNC cut spacer, very well done. Part was sitting quietly in the box on the shelf.

Today, I decided to open up the diffuser slot little bit more.
After finishing the job I tried the "new" spacer.
It became immediately obvious that the new part is missing a chamfer (creating a choke point).
Yikes!

See posting #1. My original part has a ~30 deg chamfer and provides smooth transition to the plenum.
If I remember correctly, there were some adverse cost ramifications hence chamfer was omitted from the CNC program.

I hope you did not forget to remove this material before installation?

Sorry, if I spoiled your day...

I hope all understood that the inlet would need to clean up to improve airflow. We thought about cutting the bevel when manufactured but that required another setup and would raise costs up more than what it seemed to be worth.

There is a lot of material that can be removed in these areas to improve flow:

The spacer is not missing a chamfer and shrouding is not an issue with a standard backplate (i.e. non ported).

Can the cad files for this spacer be uploaded somewhere for others here to use when getting one made?

Thanks

Hey Jon, Did you ever find the CAD files for the plenum spacer? Please post them here if you are not going to do another group buy run.

Thanks
