Looks phenomenal! Are you planning on clear coating the polished aluminum?

My friend Randy Grubb, who builds these beautiful vehicles, turned me onto this product.
You don't really want to clear coat aluminum parts as the clear WILL chip and then you're in for a pain.

Test fit of the grill. I'll re screen it and tack weld the screen to the frame as well as the mounting tabs. There will be aluminum grommets welded to the screen around the splitter braces.

Lorenstump, is that protectant heat resistant up to a certain point? Could you coat an exhaust manifold with it?

This guy, took about a week to arrive. Could not find any places in U.S. that kept it in stock in that angle.

I don't really know, I'll have to ask Randy as I haven't had the engine running yet. Don't think it would go to exhaust temps though.

Installed a new fuel filter (Hopefully a K&N PF-1000 is the correct one). And adjusted the parking brake (removed driver's seat but was surprisingly quick and simple). Yesterday, I got new Nitto NT-05 tires installed. Yay!

I drove it to work today. Beautiful day in Socal. Otherwise there is nothing I needed to do to the car. I feel like I should break something so I can contribute to this thread. Wait, it's a Lotus, something should happen soon...

Did some electrical work today. Changing from external purl pumps to in tank requires a few wiring harness changes. The 88 had two external pumps, had separate wires and fuses ( 20 amp each ). One becomes the new in tank pump feed and the other becomes the charge cooler pump feed ( dedicated and fused)
Sliding lengths of shrink tubing over each other, soldering, then un-sliding and shrinking, gives a clean install.

I didn't like the smell of gas in the cabin with the windows up. Looked like it might be coming from where the seat belt opening. So I took off the seat belt housing and found the degraded foam and cloth with a minimal strip of old weatherstripping. So I made it a little more air tight. The end result was no more fuel smell in the cockpit and the blow off valve noise isn't as ear piercing now.

^^^ I did the same two years ago, except I used Dynamat scraps instead of foam.
