After much deliberation I pulled the trigger on the "Cheese Grader". Gmendoza got me a deal I couldn't resist so thanks!

Used some Misc S2000 parts to make two mufflers. Quieter and no drone compared to the Camaro muffler I had but at WOT there is no exhaust noise except the sound of air rushing out the back. Love it!

Finally got to contribute to this thread.

88 Esprit - 73K miles (43K on my watch since 2011).

Yesterday at work - 38 miles round trip every day - drove from 2nd floor to top to get a sunset photo - Sunnyvale, California mild weather allows the top down driving.

Does a "HTU!" upgrade give you more than a plain "HTU" upgrade? LOL

PS, I like the background Lotus in front of the Chapman home, "Performance Beyond Imagination". Was that the packaging the ECU came back in?

Atwell, according to the almighty ones at Lotus USA, the HTU doesnt net more power per se...... It eliminates the boost restriction in the lower gears and this adds torque in the midrange. It also is "supposed" to have better interface communication to allow easier reading of the OBD data as well as eliminate some faults noted in the original specification ecu. The dyno will elucidate any real world power gains. I am planning to dyno the car stock first, remove the ecu, run in for 30 or so miles with the new ecu installed then make a few pulls after installation..... Stay tuned...
Oh yes, the factory 20202 brochure, a Lotus Pen and an Esprit/Lotus Tie came in the package too! My son will love the pen. The Brochure goes in my garage, and the tie..... Well, havent figured out what I am going to use it for yet....

Remarkably enough, my wife just told me that she likes the tie. She wants me to keep it! I thought for sure she would put it in the "Hideous, Art Clothes" closet.... Thats where all of my automotive "uncool" shirts, jackets and "ugly" driving shoes go!

Lotus had a number of Esprit "swag" items over the years.

This is a fabric stick-on of a G-Esprit, and a cable/key ring.

I also have a tie tack/lapel pin of a red Stevens Esprit.

Was thinking of having my tongue pierced so I could wear the pin, LOL.

Thanks! Thy are XXR wheels, really close to Stock V8 sizes (17x8-1/4" front and 18x9-3/4" in the rear.) Offsets for the rears are 2mm different that V8, so they are a bolt on. Fronts are 10mm off so I am running a 5/16" spacer on the fronts. In hind sight I should have gone 18" all the way around due to the lack of tire choices....

I have been PM'd about the wheels in the past, and for some reason I am the only person that could get a set with a 5x108 bolt pattern. Everybody else got told that they couldn't be done....not sure what the deal is with that.

Jeff
