The finest garages have '65 S2s and '05 Elises in them.
OK, even some rather messy and shabby garages like mine have them! Great-looking Elan - it's nice to see that to help keep me motivated to finish putting mine back together (it's in pieces since after the water pump failed around LOG33 then I ripped out the wiring, dash, etc - you know how it goes!) I generally don't like dark colors on the Elan (yes, including BRG - sorry BRG fans!) but the yellow stripe makes all the difference.
What size tires are those? 14s maybe? They look pretty large. I'm used to wide but not tall - mine runs 205/60/13s. Toyo R-spec seem to be about the only decent choice for new tires; it looks like you may have similar tires on there.
Oh, and like Atwell says - worrying about carpet fitment on an Elan?
Your car never had carpets from the factory so don't worry too much!
The plug wiring routing is different in the different sets of pictures. I always ran mine under the valve cover, there's a little opening under it by the firewall where you can route the wires very neatly without them hanging all over the top of the engine. I expect someone will tell me why this is a bad idea since I see so few other Elans with them that way!
Your interior looks terrific! That's by far the worst part on life. Regarding the hardtop - does that have some sort of package shelf in it or something? I would expect to see body color on the fiberglass behind the seats but it looks like a flat black and have a different shape than I would expect to see?
