Bold/Crazy/Amazing Evora Spec Thread

Kind of late, but I’ve long thought we needed a thread to document some of the unique specs that have been coming out of the Lotus design offices (sometimes amazing, sometimes awful, sometimes I can’t decide). I suppose in some cases it is the individual dealers spec’ing out the cars they want to sell. I know the old Dubai dealer special ordered the cars they wanted to sell. And then there was Gator Motorsports (I think) painting the sail panel in body color. Anyway, in addition to collecting cool examples, it’s also a way of documenting things you might want to do to your car as the bug for individualizing hits.

Here are two examples from Hendy Performance in the UK. One has a fantastic green exterior paint. The other has a bespoke interior that I can’t decide if it’s genius or insanity.

This thread went over like a lead balloon . . . I guess it’s a professional failing as a designer to be overly interested in the design decisions being made. I love trying to figure out which color combos are working and which (not unlike this thread) fail miserably and why. And which combos make for controversy. Borrowing from the GT thread, this color combo is one of the boldest I’ve seen. And it’s predominantly white!

These colors were absolutely gorgeous in person in Las Vegas. They look to be for sale still (wish I could pick one up now...) I would have a hard time deciding!

1. Peppermint Green
2. Italian Flag Green
3. Sky Blue

I have to take my 2017 400 to Las Vegas next week to repair pack rat damage. Iíve briefly spoken with them about possibly trading it in for one of those 2018s, but they are going to have to do a little better on the delta between the two to even tempt me. If they canít, Iíll just put some money into spicing up my 2017 once itís repaired.

The GTEs are just unreal. For me itís the proportions more than any color scheme. And hereís and unpopular opinion: I actually think the GT rear end is better looking and better resolved than the GTE.

Whatís going on with the roof of the red one?
