A limited higher priced edition, but shows that they have the manual ready to go.
The 7-speed manual will be in the mainstream cars after the AMR run is complete. The AMR will be about $180k so far from the Evora pricing.

But I own a Vantage, I love the Vantage, but it's really not a straight competitor for an Evora. It's fast and fun, but not nimble in the way a Lotus is. It's also built like a tank in comparison to a Lotus. I can see someone cross shopping, but I'd be surprised if it came down to a Vantage or an Evora for anyone. If I didn't also own an Elise, I'd be dissatisfied with the Vantage because it's too much GT for the fun little small road drives.

The introductory models are optioned (e.g. carbon ceramic discs) to $180k. When those are gone, the stick becomes merely an option.

Best news is that the stick weighs 209 lbs. less than the auto.

I mentioned somewhere that I drove a V8 Vantage ~ 2005 or 6. No idea how that compares to yours.

New one is more sports car like (I'm told; don't remember much from that long-ago drive).

New model felt great.

I decided I could live with the auto AM as that would make it more unlike my other cars. But 209 lbs?????.............

05 elise (BOE Rev300 supercharged, SSRs, shift tower mods, Multivex; HID hi/low beams); 05 Corolla XRS. Past '72 Elan Sprint (I restored), Lotus 7 w/X-flow, TT Supra, Bugeye Sprite, BMW 2002 & 2002tii, '65 GTO.

I keep thinking the base 400 is the sweet spot for this series and that the follow on cars as will probably be sold in this country won't stand up favorably to the delta in price. Carbon fiber looks great but as add-ons like spoilers, wings or even a roof, it's an expensive way to get an increase in performance so that's only worth "so much" to me.

It would have to be more comprehensively different than a 400 to coax an additional 45K out of me.

Yes, I may be prejudiced since I already have a 400 but I have asked myself what I would buy now if I didn't already own it. Given current market conditions it would be another 400.

Everybody's different, usual disclaimers.

I cross-shopped a widebody 392 Challenger to the Evora 400...?

On same day I looked at a 400 and the LC 500. A hard look. If the Lotus had the 430 appearance I would have gone that way. In fact drove the Lexus straight to the Lotus down the street.

The LC very different, but quite entertaining to drive and honestly draws more attention than the Evora S we had. Which was a striking example.

We look around and branch out, but we are still here. My hope is to see a Lotus offered again where Iíll have no choice but to have her in my garage. It has happened before.

Hey XHCLR8N! Do you know if that vanity is taken in Tennessee? I'd need to shorten it to six letters but I can work with that!

The LC500 and the 4XX are as different as two cars with similar pricing and two doors can be. All they really share are two doors, hence the coupe category that will pop up on A-Trader along with assorted AMG GTs, Caymans, 850is and a $100,000 budget. If they had a category for "Toyota motor" that would probably net you just the two cars; the Lexus and the Evora . With most other combos one or the other is out.

That you drove the Lexus to the Lotus dealership and not the other way around? Suspicious! () What you need is an Evora to go with your main battle tanks!

Looks feature in mysterious ways to everybody but I try to keep looks in perspective. Usually I fail as any car has to tickle me but we all agree that's Very Subjective. To me the thing wrong with the 400's looks relates to finish rather than design since I find the car very exciting to look at compared to most things I see day to day. As do my car & biker friends, many on the street and so many interrogators at gas stations. I don't need any more attention than the car already gets. Lovely, the LC500, no argument. there.

The main thing these cars have in common is that you can throw one into a sweeper and quickly, easily get up to speeds that surprise you.

And you can load about the same amount of stuff in it for say a beach trip with another and get looks and questions all along the way.

Looks like the 430 has been named the Evora GT for here in the states. I saw the 7 second preview, but do we yet know which front end we will get?

Just saw post 22 on Julianís thread. If correct, we still get the main reason there is no new Lotus in our garage, yet. Sure took a hard look at one the day we got the LC 500.

Still nice to get this even higher performance model over here.

They dropped the 0-60 by 0.3 seconds with 10hp? Is the gearing for the 6 speed different, is it significantly lighter, is the tire just better, or is it a combination of these?

I have to say that the 410 suspension, carbon hatch, and better infotainment for $99k all in is a really good value. The car looks like Lotus is coming after the new GT4 hard. What is the torque rating?

Same gearing, + 22Hp (422), over 100 lbs lighter, Gator will weight one soon, but factory claimed 410 was 132# lighter than the 400 (I think that was before we got saddled with the 44.1 lb (ea) seats, now the GT still have the airbags, but also gets the CF version of the Sparcos', so we'll see.

Torque is 420 NM I believe.

The 410 was already a contender against the 911 GT3, this is closer to a GT3 RS contender, skip the 718 GT4

The pricing and specs say otherwise. The Evora GT is most closely matched with the GT4. The it has almost identical power/torque ratings and price. It is lighter for sure but it's also a mid engine track focused car. The GT3 and GT3RS are simply more car for more money. It has a significant power and gearing advantage due to the engine. It also has more aero than the Evora GT has given that we don't seem to get the wing unless that is an option. I seriously doubt the Evora GT could keep up with either car on most tracks. The only exceptions might be tighter tracks that don't favor power as much.
