I got mine today. According to the archives, there were 164 2008 Exige 240 cars imported to the US. This does not include the 17 blue Club Racers.
Mine is 1 of 10 in Isotope Green. Pretty cool.

1966 BRG Elan SE (sold)
2008 Isotope Green Exige 240
2017 Metallic Blue Evora 400

A few numbers have come into question

Per CoP's US allocation of Evoras are as follows:

2010 241 all NA
2011 365; 285 NA , 80 S
2012 158; 1 NA-6sp 90 NA-IPS, 53 S, 14 S GP Edition

however the recent recall notes 80 supercharged 2011 cars not 74 and I was told SN 10304 was a GP Ed but Galpin lists it as an S only.

I'm wondering if the 80 supercharged cars includes a few of the early 12s? we all know how the Lotus product ranges are....

now the GP edition on the other hand I'm not sure.

2016 AMG GT-S
2012 Caterham R400 (sold)
2010 Chrome Orange Evora (Sold )
2005 ST Elise (sold)
2002 MB G500 lifted etc.
2003 Cooper S (track)
we'll see what Lotus comes up with next...

2003 350Z, Track edition
2013 Boxster S 981
2014 Xterra, for 6 months of winter and mud season

80 vs 74 ?? One cert needs revision.

As to MY12's being counted as some of MY11, highly doubt that error. One year may be outfitted same as 1st of next model year, but the actual model year is a regulated thing. Gets a new letter code in VIN and SN sequence starts again.

My Certificate is dated "19th October 2011" and states "....74 Evora S models made for USA. "

I wouldn't think they were still building a model year so late, but perhaps they were still building MY 2011 after October 19th ???

I know the S model recall for the US references 80 S cars.

Maybe I'll see if it needs updating.

I'm interpreting this as saying he received his certificate in Oct 2011, and there had been 74 Evora S models made for the US as of that date.

When I received my certificate a few weeks ago, the final total for 2011 S models was known to be 80.

If at least one owner from each year of production for each model were to obtain a CoP, would we then be able to answer the elusive "How many did they build" question? I'm assuming that all Elise models count the same (e.g., S2 as disctinct from S1, since S1's were not officially sold in the US, so California, SC, Purist, Colin Chapman, Type D, Final Edition, Roger Becker, etc., would all be rolled into one; similarly, Exige, but not separate categories for S, 240, 260, Final Edition's, etc.).

How many did they build, would still be elusive. In US we could get the US count but at least 4 or 5 versions are built: LHD, RHD, Federal LHD, Canadian LHD. .. 12th digit of VIN

Market Spec.
A = LHD USA
B = LHD Canada
C = RHD Other
D = LHD Other
E = Gulf States
L = South Korea

Alternative is find the last SN, will not tell you models sold but would give total years car production.

What are the last three digits of your VIN, I have #161, with a December build date.

Andy Graham responded almost immediately to my inquiry. His reply was:

“The details on the certificate still stand as correct. Your car is the only 2011 MY Evora S in Chrome Orange, so there is no need to make changes to the certificate. I can do an edit of the letter free of charge if you want me to amend it from 69th out of 74 to 75th out of 80. This is the easiest thing to do.

So, KCZ , your certificate is correct. 2011 Model S totals are 80. However, the interesting part that I just thought of is that my car is now the 75th out of 80, not the 69th out of 80. Does that mean the other 6 were actaully built before my car and not after?

got it. But we would be able to determine how many were sent to the US, correct? Not sold, since some are still unsold, but the CoP lists the number of cars produced for the US market.

My other question still stands, I think? I have a Purist. Will my CoP say 1 of 50, or 1 of 150 (I don't actually know how many Elise's were sent to the US for 2009; this is just an example)?

I would think that your car is 69th of 80. 75th of 80 makes no sense.

I would agree. But, here is a quote from my revised letter he scanned and sent this morning:

"The 2011 model year for the USA market ran from serial number 0288 (June 2010) until serial number 2914 (September 2011) and this serial number sequence is shared between all Lotus models and all markets, so for clarification the following is based on serial number sequence for the USA 2011 model year Evora S models only;
Your car is the 75th out of 80 cars, (compared to 285 normally aspirated 2011 MY cars)"

I don't think this is odd at all. Several LT members have reported seeing cars sitting around waiting for various parts. This would mean that some cars start later and finish sooner, and some start sooner and finish later. Perhaps there were options/paint/trim/wheels etc. needed to finish the other cars? I realize in a modern assembly plant, you probably wouldn't start building a car unless you had all the parts, or knew where and when they were going to be available, but in the highly engineered world of Lotus, with their crack JIT manufacturing process, things might have got a little off track, or perhaps Nigel and Niall got a little off track.

I was told serial numbers are assigned but build sequence is different as they cluster same colors together etc. I don’t know. When I was visiting the factory September a year ago. They had a cluster of European GP Special Editions all together near the end of the line but the VIN’s are all over the board (from 2567 to 2801) so that follows true but then on the line cars were of multi colors?? Rhyme of the day!
