Toyota owned part of them, GM owned all of them, Proton had the money to release the Elise.....

It is not all about money, it is about desire. The problem with being a small part of a big company is priorities change, and when you account for single digit percentages of sales whether you flourish or rot, it is not all that important to the corporation

Let us hope Geely has the desire, as the money has been there for 20 years............

My concern has always been that our cars will become orphans in need of support that never comes with Lotus and its new owners focused on the future and eager to move on from here. It wouldn't be the first time I bought an orphan. I bought a 505 Turbo in 1985 after all!

But it would be the last! I don't want that to happen. Lotus! Please take our money!

GM never gave them anything but some electricals AFAIK. Proton never really released the purse string either. Bahar raided whatever they did release. There are many very successful orphans in the world!

My experience is under Geely the warranty and arts supply is even worse. Seems like Lotus USA has zero pull and Geely/Lotus doesent want any expense form older cars. I guess they figure their future suv customer wont care.

Not exactly the way to build a brand.

IMo the only reason lotus still exists is it has a unique product that appeals to certain people. Beyond that bandwidth why would you own a lotus.

If the alpine a110 existed in USa I coudnt see buying a lotus.

I wish there was a way that everyone could voice their opinion together and make it clear to Lotus things need to change and we don't care about this $2000000 car that can only go 5mph.

Take care of the customers you have! All my car friends are saying I should have went Porsche. I'm starting to wonder if this car was a mistake. And sadly it not the cars fault.

On a side note, GM helped expand the factory to where they build the cars today I believe.

God forbid it was inflated by UAW mentality! All this makes me confirm my thoughts to hold off on a GT for now seen as mine already kicks plenty of a$$ for me.

I got it. And thatís same context I was responding to. Different strokes for different folks. Some people like to wear Crocs because they are comfortable and indestructible. Some people care about their footwear choices and wouldnít be caught dead in a Croc. To extend the tortured metaphor, some people would rather go barefoot for two months (and counting) than wear Crocs.

I talked yesterday to the service manager at the dealer holding my car in bits on their garage floor. She claims there is a new person in charge of parts and that they are gung ho and she expects more responsiveness moving forward. Feels like weíve heard this before, but letís hope itís not Groundhog Day all over again.

I have been using lotuspartsonline.com to get OEM parts. They seem to have any part I have wanted, are easy to work with, I get the part quickly and at an appropriate price.
