MPG not matching fuel consumption

Hey everyone. I've been driving my (new to me) 2011 Lotus evora for about a 6 days now and I noticed that the estimated MPG on the little side screen doesnt match how much fuel im using. Ive been hesitant about opening her up so Ive been stay pretty much under 3k rpms which is showing me an ~18mpg which seems about right. However I can pretty much watch my fuel gauge lower itself throughout my drive home from work. This is my first tank of gas (Shell vpower nitro) in the car and its only gonna get me about 180 miles before empty. With ~18mpg I should be getting over 250 so what could be wrong?
Thanks!

No idea what’s wrong, but something is definitely wrong. Driving conservatively should net you well over 300 miles for a tank of a gas, if not 400.

Why are you hesitant to rev it over 3k? Hope you didn't buy it for the fuel economy.
Since it's your first tank maybe it wasn't completely full. Run another tank and see what it is. Miles per tank is a bad metric, tell us the miles driven and how many gallons to fill.

Fuel gauge mileage accuracy is a complete fallacy on the earlier Evoras. The gauge itself for volume in tank is quite accurate btw. Try calculating your actual mileage after a fillup instead of relying on that device. My 2010 was WAYYY optimistically high and my 2100 S is always low like 18 when I'm getting 25. You do know how to calculate mileage, right??

Per the cluster I average around 18 MPG...a few times I have been able to get it up to 22 on long road trips. I have never took the time to calculated my MPG but I trust that reading about as much as trust the cluster's clock. Now that clock...ugh, can't change from 24hr time to 12hr and my $10 Casio digital watch from Jr High kept better time.

My 2011 NA used to show 25 highway
Now with the supercharger it shows 18 highway.

I never bothered to check what the real number is. Maybe next road trip. (When I get my car back ...)

Incase I'm asking for help with something: 2011 Evora N/A C/R 6sp with BOE TVS 1900 S/C kit

They actually do easily get ~25mpg highway on cruise. My 2005 Elise only ggot 27-28mpg and my 2010 NA Evora got 25-26mpg. Did into throttle....remember smooth is fast.
