Thank you Squidward and 2011 Chrome Orange

It finally happened and I was ready...

A few months ago I reached out to user 2011 chrome orange about Squidward's "secret" trunk hack, and with his help I was able to get into the trunk when my battery died this morning. (Like and idiot I left the door open in the garage for three days and forgot to plug in my battery tender!)

Anyway I would like to thank this community and these two particular guys in particular for saving the day.

Is this something different from pulling the manual release cord under the back seat?

It's an alternative method that you setup in advance of being locked out of the trunk. The risk being that if anyone else knows about it, they can get into your trunk at any time from the outside of the vehicle.

The manual release under the rear seat has a habit of binding and/or breaking when you go to use it the first time.

I'm sure the @squidward method could be shared via PM if someone still has the video. I watched it a long time ago, so I could describe how to implement, but don't have any visual aids.

You can attach a 12 v supply inside the cabin after opening the drivers door manually with the key. Then the electric boot release should work. Of course if the release catch in the boot is broken this won't help.

Attach a battery temporarily to open the boot, the remove, attach your charger as normal, carry on.

I would love it if someone would PM me the trunk and the gas lid hack, I've been terrified of these since picking up my evora.

Pretty sure they should all have it, even if there is one in the trunk. Are you sure it isn't there?

As esseye mentioned, they should be in all of the Evora interiors. The one in the trunk is the emergency release for when someone gets kidnapped.

All requests responded to.

Also, just to let everyone know, any brand new members that I can't tell if they have an Evora, let alone a Lotus, I will refrain from sending it to. Nothing personal, but I don't want to provide info so that someone can hack into another persons trunk.

I have some photos of my fail-safe and I was attaching them to PM'd instructions until Photobucket began extorting me to do so. If anyone wants them, PM me with your Email address and I'll Email them to you.

Can I get the trunk solution as well? I started having issues with my trunk latch and want to be proactive.
