Vertical Doors on Evora

Just had Vertical Doors Inc of Lake Elsinore, CA. finish up with my new hinges. Car looks insane. Nick and Rob at Vertical Doors did a superb job.

That’s a unique look for our cars!

A few questions I have:
Can the doors open normally to the same amount as stock or are they limited to a specific outward angle before they need to be tilted up?
How’s the ingress/egress with the door up since the speaker is further away from the sill?
Any good photos of how the hinge looks up close?
With what everything cost and all things considered (like potential complications with not having a steel body to fix to), would you choose to do it again?

I don’t mind people customizing their cars and I like knowing mine is unique. Very much along the lines of “to each their own”. That said, hopefully you have your flame suit on for some people who don’t have this same mindset!

I was very skeptical of how this would turn out. But, I honestly think it looks great!
And, I completely agree with ShadowWulf369 regarding modding your car. It doesn't really matter what others think as long as you like it. Unless, of course they paid for your car.

When you get a chance, please provide additional details and perhaps a video of a door in action??

Looks OK, but we've seen these before.

If BayAreaEvora is happy, I'm happy for him/her.

But, to me, a waste of $$ trying to impress people.

VERTICAL DOORS

Thanks Bryan,

The car looks great. we appreciate you letting us do the job for you.

The doors open less than they do stock but still enough to get in and out without lifting them. Getting in and out, in my opinion, is much easier due to the additional room that the arc of the vertical hinges creates at the front of the door. I think Bryan will have to answer the rest of your questions. I was very happy with the way it came out and the way the hinges work.

would love to see a video as well, does it wobble at all when lifted or moved down? or does it appear weightless?
I think the biggest issue with kit doors is the wobble that just makes them scream "bolt on lambo doors I put on my camaro" when they move up and down

I'm amazed at the response you're getting. More positive comments than negative and no one has yet invoked the name of Colin Chapman or used the word "lightness".

Well done for giving it a go! I think it looks pretty awesome. Not sure it’s at the top of my mods list, but I can sure understand people who will.

I wasn't sure about getting them at first but after seeing the end result I was shocked how good it looks now.. Getting in and out is quite easy. When the doors are up it draws a ton of attention, almost too much.

I haven't seen any additional info on their website.

For those of us on the opposite coast, do you have any closer pics showing hinge side? How far does it open before going up? Can you still get in/out without lifting door? More info please....

Yes, the door opens to the first notch so you can still get in and out without lifting door up. I tried to get a picture of the new hinges but it's pretty tucked in there. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the photos, it does help. Last question... did they have to modify car at all (cut anything?) or is it a truly bolt on kit?
