What did you do to your Evora today?

That makes more sense. Appreciate the explanation.

Drove 300 miles south of San Antonio to South Padre Island for the week. The car performed flawlessly.

What is happening is when I floor the car, at 4K+ rpms, there is a definite sudden increase in engine noise and boost in acceleration. I'm not in sport mode. Something extra is kicking in.

As I said earlier, it reminds me of the Elise and its variable valve timing kicking in at higher rpm.

The engine noise increases substantially at 4k rpm because the exhaust valve opens at that point even if you're not in sport. There may be a small bump in power in that case as well because the exhaust is suddenly flowing much more freely which is good for power. I only ever drive in sport or race so I have never even noticed if there seems to be a dramatic difference from 4k on in normal mode. I will say that even in sport the car pulls hard above 4k rpm but that's because the super charger just keeps building more power all the way to redline.

above 4k it starts pulling because that's where the torque starts to peak

Went on an awesome drive with a bunch of R8’s, a few Lambos, two Ferarris and a couple other random cars. Heck of a time and the Lotus kept up just fine... except when a 720s decided to punch it by me lol.

Went to see the 2020 Evora GT and parked my red 400 next to it. The GT looks fantastic with all that CF and the nicer interior.

1000 mile checkup

Drove 225 miles (each way) for the 1000 mile checkup. All went well. Its now a month old.

During the trip drove through torrential rain - could feel a small bit of hydro plaining on the OH Turnpike a few times. Glad I applied RainEx prior to the trip. Never needed wipers.

Averaged 24.8 MPG for the 482 total miles. Gave it a much needed bath - looks like new again.

Always fun to do a Costco run and then get back to the car for some jigsaw puzzle packing. You get some great comments from other shoppers too.

Finally went for the clutch and brake fluid change today. Everything seemed to be going fairly smoothly until I thought I was done and the clutch pedal dropped straight to the floor. I did everything according to what Iíve read(using Motiv pressure bleeder), so I donít know wtf the problem is. Iíve gotten some pedal back but it still doesnít feel quite right and the slave cylinder is making a creaking sound when the pedal is pressed that it wasnít making before.

Costco is one of the few shopping runs I am comfortable to do with the Evora. They have decently sized parking slots that reduce the probability of dings to an acceptable risk level. Never put refrigerated products or luggage that includes your wife's make up kit in the boot. Wives hate it when the lipstick melts, you'll hate it when the Haagen Dazs goes limp. It is acceptable to transport pre cooked chickens, pizza, BBQ and other foods that must be kept hot in what the English call the boot. Here we identify it as a cleverly designed kitchen appliance. We are two peoples separated by a common language. What they call the boot is actually an oven.

Got the fluid swap completed; kept bleeding and bleeding until the pedal came back. Still makes the noise, but everything seems to be operating normally. While I had the wheels off I decided to wrap the front markers with some vinyl tint. Came out ok.

Technically it was Thursday and not today, but I finished the AC condenser job! I'm going to make a thread on it with a picture of each step, including some lessons learned.

The photo of your shopping trip with the shopping cart reminded me of grocery shopping. Someone allowed a shopping car to get away (on a small slope) and it left a nasty scratch on the rear bumper. I now try to park away from all shopping cart return areas.

In the UK you can park in an empty stadium car park and come back and there will be some earole parked up close enough to stop you opening your door.

Today I tried in vain (ignore the hot water stains) to undo the wrong that was done to my girl. I really am disappointed in the dregs of society, but I suppose it is their lot in life.

Luckily the Xpel did its job, although since the asshat responsible decided to start at the access cover, I pretty much have to get the whole front end redone. To top it all off, my dash cam did not pick up the motion or movement, so it's getting replaced with something that can actually provide tangible evidence.
