Where can I buy side scoops?

I quite fancy the side scoops in the pic below above over the top of the intakes and will be on Florida for 3 weeks starting 1st may.

Any American vendors sell them?

I got mine from Elise Shop. I know @HKFEVER has them too, as does HethelSport.

I'll post pics but won't be until mid June i imagine.

@trcm I am not sure how large they are. Happy to get them for you but I would need to inbox them to fit them in the suitcase to bring them home. I am buying mine from a forum member who spotted this post.

If you get full price info from hkfever including delivery then could be possible.

You may want to contact Sherman at HethelSport. Seems he wasn’t happy with the quality and had them redone. Good for him looking out for us. I’ve been in contact with him. I also want the fiberglass ones since I wish to paint them to match the color of my car.

Has anyone had an issue, or heard of an issue, with the side scoops falling off at high speeds since they are installed only with double sided tape? I would like to pick up a fiberglass pair, so I can paint to match, but I'd hate to spend the money on the scoops and paint just to have them fly off.

The term 'double-sided tape' covers a lot of things. If you are sure you don't want to take them off any time soon, you can use 3M VHB tape. How strong is it? It's used for mounting solar panels to camper roofs, among other things. They're out in all weathers, spend lots of time with wind load, heat, vibration, cold, etc, and a 100W solar panel is a great sail, so the mountings have to work for a living. I have never heard of a mounting failure involving a solar panel mounted with VHB tape and standoffs.

Removal is generally done with fishing line, then mineral spirits to remove the remnants.

As another source to buy carbon side scoops, GRP is now offering them as well. Link below.

For adhering these to the vehicle, I used Sugru and they’ve held on very well. I tried VHB but found the gap between the scoop and the car varied too much for one layer of tape. To fill the gap, the Sugru worked wonders and the finish looks fairly professional. I’ve not had any issue with worrying about the scoops coming off while driving and the leading edges have not loosened in time.

I used silicone, on the theory that it would hold tightly and not remove the paint if/when I decided to pull of the scoops. It's met the first condition: 10k miles and they're still quite firmly fixed in place.

Side note, I used the same stuff to stop my wheel center caps from liberating on corners. Works great.
