I've had customers order them saying they were using them for the VF kit, but I have not verified it myself.

This is a really nice news ! Finally I did the right move to do not place my order on your website this afternoon for a regular 3.1 pulley model. MK II look more sweet ! I'll go with that one instead .

Ho and by the way you should ask to Kold-Fire to make a tune for our exige with your 3.1 pulley. It would be greats for me, other exige owners , for you and for the tuner also.

There new Kold-Fire 270 tune is really impressive using the stock pulley. I'm sure they can do even better with your 3.1 pulley.

you are right, but does that means no other speed shop can sell RLS products or create something with one of his product ???

It is true that Sector 111 is an RLS dealer, and it is also true that other tunes have taken advantage of RLS products. I'm not sure whether Kold Fire has a tune for the 3.1" pulley & RLS Intercooler at this time.

No they dont have that tune for now but they should Thomasio. As a big player in the Lotus part industry you could ask them to work on a tune with your 3.1 pulley only and another one with the RLS intercooler in combo with a smaller pulley like the 3.0.

It would be good for exige owners, the parts seller ( you ) and the tuner of course to get an even better visibility.

I'm sure you are but how come nobody has come out yet with tunes options like this ?

If they can extract 270HP out of a stock exige, correct me if I'm wrong but it could be possible to make a 10-15 more HP with the 3.1 pulley at an affordable cost.

The OEM intercooler on the Exige S really can't handle the heat created by the stock setup, so in my opinion (and many others') a larger intercooler is needed to deal with any additional horsepower.

That being said, maybe someone is willing to do a tune for the pulley only.

For people who drive their car on the street, the stock intercooler is not that bad, heat soak has never been a problem for myself. I dont know if it is because I live in canada and it's colder. Unless you are stuck in the traffic at a hot temperature heat soak will happen this is normal. When you dyno a car, heat soak will happen too because inside you dont have the same condition as outside while your driving.

My RX-7 had heat soak problem too on the dyno but on the highway it was a happy beast.

What we usually do with our car on the street is a short wide open throttle period for may be 2 or 3 gears to get excited, it last a couples of seconds and then we must brake to come back to normal speeds because we are affraid to meet a cops. That's it.

I would really like to get an RLS intercooler and I'm sure it is 150% better to handle stress but my wife would not appreciate at all.

A pulley is cheap and the ECU flash nobody will never know. It is subtle.

Even assuming that it is the same pulley (which needs to be verified), I'm not sure that you would want to risk using a smaller pulley on an engine that doesn't have an intercooler. Smaller pulley = more boost, and without even an intercooler, you will be raising the intake air temperature (IAT) which could lead to detonation.

Maybe Lotus left some breathing room, so to speak, which would allow this, but you will need to keep a close eye on IAT's, and watch to see if your ECU is finding detonation (using the Lotus scan tool). You can also deduce what is going on with the ECU if you watch the timing and the IAT's.
