You see more Tesla daily because their range is so crappy that you can only use them to go to work in the city, not go on road trips!!! HA!!

*ducking*

The Tesla just annoys me because people love it so much, and I'm a natural born HATER!

WAR!

Liberal, effete snobs they are! And how can a car with no rumbling exhaust note be cool? They are the enemy, until Tesla goes belly-up and they need our parts to keep running. Seriously though, people seem to forget that an electric car is really a coal burning car. It will be a long time till a good percentage of electric power plants are clean.

Hey guess what, I'm a Tesla driver and have gained great respect for Lotus. My car handles great and I suspect the Lotus Elise handles a bit better because it is lighter and 2" shorter. So more power to you all and you will get the thumbs up from me any time I see you.

So we went to a local car gathering here in CO and got a ride in a Tesla it's cool but not $156,000 worth of cool! The local sales person was giving rides but he was not as friendly after I smoked him in my Elise turbo He happened to be on a demonstration when I was showing off to a local Toyota buff

glad I got a ride first

IMO: It's to quite! and the suspension feels like a Cadillac compares to my Elise
It feels a lot heaver/slower on the plus side it was easier to get in and out of with the lower door sills

I don't have any beef with Tesla's. They're like our cousins, like the Opel Speedster.

I echo the experiences that people have had regarding the snobby Tesla owners. Douches just stare at my thumb and have on their face.

It's more than possible that many Tesla owners don't realize the Tesla is based on the Elise; or for that matter, even know what an Elise is. The target market for the two cars is quite different.

Garage
Had a BBQ at my house on Sunday, and a guy friend of one of my guests came up to me and said "Congratulations man, that's a cool Tesla" [email protected]#!
I assumed he got confused, as to many, because I have the Battery Tender cable hanging out the window.
- but then I had to educate him on what a Lotus Elise was, and how the Tesla's are put together in the same shop in the UK.

all car guys are friends, but not all prestige buyers are friends of cars guys, and vice versa... got nothins to do with tesla or electric or hot rod or european or classic or vintage or modern or race or street

7% parts? probably, a chassis is one part, and a bolt is another part and suspension arm, then a bushing is another - so if you count up all the "parts" yea... probably 7% i mean - aren;t there like 1/2 million parts in the battery pack?

"I really started paying attention to cars was when they came out with the Nissan Z, the first body. Then I seen the Cherokees, the old square ones, and I was like, “Wow, that’s cool.” Then I seen the Isuzu jeeps and I seen the Wranglers."

+1 to Tesla

I'd love to own one too: side-by-side with my Elise They'd make a dynamic duo!

I'd certainly would wave to any Tesla driver I happened to see.

Just got my Lotus and they had to unload a Tesla first to get it out. It was a gorgeous car and the sound of that thing was just amazing. Gotta love the Tesla too! Here is the pic of them side by side

Lots of interesting info in this thread. A Roadster is my daily and all car people are my friends. Most Tesla owners I've met have been super cool and down to Earth. Many of them aren't typical "car people" though, and that's alright. Lotus owners see my car as a soul-less bastard child while Tesla owners see it as the iPhone 3GS of cars . It's a fun place to be.

My mom and sister both drive a model S and suffer from chronic range anxiety equally.

Not up here in the PNW. Most Tesla (Model S, 3, X----get it :P) owners that I see are not car people at all. I work at Microsoft and everyone drives one here. Most are not car enthusiasts. A big chunk of the owners at work are hipsters and want the cool tech car. The roadsters are extremely rare and I throw those owners into a different category from the rest. I have spoken to a roadster owner who lives near me and he was a car enthusiast.

They are all over the Seattle area and to me are now the new equivalent of a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. Especially with the Model 3 out...I cant drive a few miles without seeing them.
