Per subject, looking to see what's out there. I've looked on hemmings, ebay, etc. In Northern Virginia area.

If you are in the US or Canada there is no 82 Esprit. The S1 came to the US in 77 and 78. The S2 was available 78-80. The Turbo Esprit was available, primarily as an investors edition, starting in 1983. That body style was available from 83-87 in the US. You are on the right track, I'd also follow bring a trailer, classic auto trader, and I'd search Craigs List using search tempest which will allow you to do a nationwide search.

Good luck.

The S3 debuted in 1981 (a non Turbo Esprit, with body and some chassis differences from the Turbo). Not aware of any S3's imported into the US at any year, although one showed up here some time ago that was in Canada. Supposedly there is a gray market S3 or two floating around the US.

Owned, loved, enjoyed, and now gone:

1970 Europa S2 White
1974 Europa Twin Cam Blue

2005 Elise Saffron Yellow
2005 Elise Ardent Red
2006 Exige Graphite Grey
2007 Exige Canyon Red

Other:
1970 MGB GT
1970 Datsun 510
1984 Honda CRX Si
1984 Pontiac Fiero

There was also a S2 2.2 which had the larger engine (2.2 liter) but they did not make it to the US either. I've been looking for a S1 or S2 to restore and if it works out I'm going to build it as a 2.2. It would be fun!

Well damn. I could have sworn I saw an 82. Was considering getting something from my birth year haha. I'll keep an eye out and search tempest and auto tempest are awesome. Bought a 67 caddy from Cali using those.
