Melkus RS2000

I didn't notice it before, but to my knowledge the Melkus RS2000 hasn't been covered in this forum. It is a German small production built car (25 units/yr.) which was being sold at 107,500 Euros a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, the price went up to $149,900 Euros (roughly $200,000). It features a turbo charged 2L-i4 with up to 325 hp and claims a top speed of 168mph.

I do like the gull-wing doors, but not the price ...

Garage
Same windshield/wiper, steering wheel and about a million other parts from our Eliges... do they just start with a naked Elise chassis and go from there?

Wow.

I think the interior is hideous.

I really can't groove on these 'pretty much an Elige' for 4x the price.

I like the gullwings.

I much more like the prior Melkus - the RS1000 from the 70's

Yup, the communist (East German) lambo! NOT!!!! 3 cyl. 2-stroke, 992 cc displacement. Hey, before they build the race version it maybe reached a whopping 108.7399586Mph (175Kmh). In race trim they claimed 130Mph. A 1,200 cc version was built, too.
