The Venom is getting an Esprit body

It looks like Hennessy is going to build an Esprit if Lotus won't do it.

It's described as an evolution of the Venom GT, which only uses the tub and maybe some front suspension parts from Lotus. I'd expect the same parts to be used in this rebody.

In this article I saw yesterday he is quoted as saying there will be no Lotus parts. But it's Hennessey, so...

Hennessey already made his first mistake by naming it the F5. That's from the OLD tornado rating scale that ceased in 2007! Not off to a good start considering it's not even built.

that not an esprit body... and if its a "rebody"then its still mostly elise with a bespoke rear 1/2.

"I really started paying attention to cars was when they came out with the Nissan Z, the first body. Then I seen the Cherokees, the old square ones, and I was like, “Wow, that’s cool.” Then I seen the Isuzu jeeps and I seen the Wranglers."

Hennessy Venom F5 - is that you esprit?

The new concept design for the Hennessy Venom F5 looks like the design for the "2015" Esprit. Maybe this was the influence? Or is this how the next Elise/Exige will look?

Discuss.

I think it's pretty obvious that they are using concept models for the Behar era Esprit as the inspiration for their car.

It would be interesting if Lotus went this way with the new Elige design.

looks more like a mid engine corvette to me... its looks as much NOT like the bazar concept as much as it does.

It looks much more like the upcoming Acura NSX should look like, if they hadn't ALSO seen the crap Esprit concept and settled for copying that.

It will be using miscellaneous parts from whatever customer cars are in the shop at the moment?

When you sell an Exige with a Corvette engine for a million bucks it gives you lots of freedom to invest in other things.
