Garage stain

So I decided to stain the floor.. Has anyone else done it before?

I'm almost done and can't wait for the final color to show after the sealer..

I stained the floor, but I was really drunk at the time!

Are you talking about stained concrete/polished? I looked into it and from what I gathered, like epoxy, it's best to pay the $ and have it done professionally.

I used an acid based concrete stain on the floors in the office and customer areas of one of my shops some years ago. It was certainly an interesting project and requires regular maintenance of the seal coat.
The shop floor was left the original off white to increase available light, and sealed with a different product for that environment.

I went epoxy finish on my garage (light gray, so I can more easily find stuff it I drop it on the floor), makes sweeping it very easy. It's held up pretty well, though wet R-Compounds drying on the smooth finish has pulled up a few spots under the tires, mainly due to the finish ripping the top layer of concrete off.

I've seen driveways stained in various colors. I actually thought about it, but just sealed mine. Based on comparison to my neighbors, staining keeps the concrete looking much nicer and newer...

Garage
Jay ,

Our house was built with stained concrete flooring. The builder ,(a friend of mine), used a Ferric ????-ide to "rust" the floor to it's current color. It took a few trials but I finally got the un-stained part to rust to the right shade and then clear coated it.
The rusting agent is commonly sold as a fertilizer, comes in a red and yellow bag, and looks like sulfer powder. Mix with water and apply to floor. Repeat as needed till floor turns brown.
Swa-la!
