Nice. It is coming along.
Basement windows were in the old garage as well? I do not recall ever seeing that before.

Yes. The house was built in 1952 and the garage in 1954, so the house was not designed from the begining to have an attached garage. The basement windows were plastered over from the interior, but I am in the process of restoring them. That way I will be able to see my "showroom" from the basement . It will also let me get a bit more light.

Use a semi or gloss paint, it will clean up better and last longer. Can't wait for the next round of photos.

For the garage door tracks, that's what I ask for, but obviously they did not listen There is a lift planed for the spot next to the exterior wall so these tracks will have to be moved up for sure. The 2 garage doors are not those I asked for. They will be replaced.

Unless the center divider to the garage entry way was absolutely necessary, I would rather have 1 big opening so I can have more ease and versatility in accessing the garage space.

x10. Unfortunately, that's not how the city and CCU council see things.

My kind of place...the garage is larger than the house...at least that's what it looks like from the front.

Someone went nuts with studs between the windows on the outside wall…redefining; “Overkill is under rated!” You can support a whole second story with that much wood.

Snow load.....lots of snow up here. Having said that building codes up here are pretty over the top.

Actually, the house is twice the garage's square footage. If you add the basement, the house is 4x the size.

Right on. Snow can be terribly heavy. The wall was built by the code.

Looks great, like the natural lighting access. Would like some natural light in mine, but in Texas we keep things as sealed up as we can (and the garage still bakes).
