Lotus Elise Base Convertible 2 Door | eBay

Seller claims "...because it was tapped in the nose..."

Oh man that car is crazy almost as epic as the tiger striped car :P... That paint and those speaker covers look horrible... Noticing that original wreck was like 11k miles on the odom, now its up to 40k? So I'm guessing they put 29kish miles on it in that state?

So I hate to be the newb asking the stupid question, but we don't learn if we don't ask, right?

Reading up on the other thread showed that this one had frame damage at 11k. With it being at almost 49k, how exactly does that work out? How do you get so much more mileage out of something that has frame damage? I doubt someone would put 38k miles on something by coddling it.

There are a lot of vehicles on the road with frame damage. Just because you can put miles on a car does not mean it's safe though. The geometry of the suspension could be out of wack, tires wear unevenly, and if the repair was not done correctly, total failure.

Plus if he is this dishonest or doesn't know about his car, I would stay away.

Folks, the vehicle information section clearly indicates a rebuilt title, AKA "salvage".

Nobody is saying that it doesn't because it was clearly does. The issue is that in the seller notes, it claims the salvage is due to a light tap on the nose. That is obviously not the case.

Even if you could get it for $16k, no telling how much money you need to spend to get all the ugly off that car.

"even though this is a rebuilt title it is because it was tapped in the nose and the shell had to be replaced with factory nose causing it to be totaled then rebuilt title was issued in Nevada,"

False info maybe?

This car is automotive equivalent of a soccer mom trying to hide a tramp stamp.

So you're saying it wasn't hit in the front or wasn't totaled or doesn't have a rebuilt title? Seller seems to be pretty forthright in his description which is more than most of the sellers on Ebay. What false info do you think there is?
