Sorry to hear and see this! Hope you are okay! Cars can always be replaced...as to what you should get for insurance pay out you are probably looking at around 30-35k depending on miles and year of your Elise. Good luck and keep us posted.

streetthrowback 01-21-2015 01:48 PM

i'm ok, my mom was with me, she is also ok, but my baby isnt, i could cry for days

streetthrowback 01-21-2015 01:49 PM

i forgot to mention

glb 01-21-2015 02:11 PM

Geez, that's pretty bad. People, tho, more important.

What tires were you running? And, how old are they?

Condolences.

:(

sturgeongeneral 01-21-2015 02:33 PM

Don't settle right away. I got hit in my truck and although stiff and sore thought all was ok. I ended up with a blown disc in my back, neck, and low back that surfaced individually over the course of a month. Not insurance get me some money injuries, but actual I couldn't walk injuries. Today they want to put rods up both sides of my spine. Just be sure that both of you are ok before settling. Then you should get somewhere between $30 to $34K. These performance tires HATE cold weather.

streetthrowback 01-21-2015 02:37 PM

Oh man sorry to hear that, yea maybe i should get checked out before this settles, what if they offer me lets say, 23k whats my next step? I have allstate by the way

How fast was that impact? Sounds a bit cold for those tires.

LotusCC 01-21-2015 02:50 PM

Tough to see.
Good to hear that you and your mother are ok.

streetthrowback 01-21-2015 02:51 PM

Gather for sale posts from the classifieds and info from the what did you pay for your Elise thread I started to substantiate pricing. They may have a hard time finding value. If you can provide accurate and current statistics things will go faster and value will be accurate in their offer. Wait to see what they offer first.

Yes. We all need to learn from this.

R888s can't even be stored below 15F.

They do not grip below (guessing) 45F.

I tried my tamer RE11s into the winter a bit last year.

Below about 40, no grip. First almost lost rear; a few minutes later, almost lost the front.

After a bit on hwy, they were warmed. But, too dangerous for me so I put on my all-seasons.

Guzman 01-21-2015 03:54 PM

First thing I did when I opened this topic was look at your location. I expected a cold location. The winter loves to claim eliges.

Those are the same tires I run.. just before putting mine into winter storage, on a cold day with no warm up, the rears lost grip turning left ~25mph through an intersection.

Its painful waiting until spring.. but gotta keep resolute.

So sad. Glad the riders are in health.
