Im sorry for your car, I know that would be heartbreaking for me. Also glad everyone is okay, you really munched that front end good!

In all honesty, you were going to fast and asking to much of cold tires. Even in the 60's my wife and I notice considerable traction loss with R888's.

People have gotten around $25 to around $30k on elise's. Do your research and provide the info. Every insurance company is going to pay you the least they are wanting you to take. It's up to you to come to a middle point. Keep what you can off the car to sell separately so you can recoup a bit or transfer to your next Lotus. I'm there with you i would probably cry too. Hell i almost cry every time i see a new rock chip...lol. Glad you are okay. You needed some snow tires!

Wish you the best of luck with the recovery of your baby!

Have you talked to Junior? He might have some good advice.

Oh man so sorry to see this. I have been there and I know it hurts but you are OK! There are still many around and you will soon be in another. I drive like a sedated grandfather when it is raining now. And +1 the 888's should not be used in that temp for future reference.

Not another one! I feel your pain. State Farm here in VA, based on what they have told me, would value your car around $30k assuming very good condition overall. Hope that helps and glad you're ok.

I would not drive fast with my mother in the car, i just came out of a gas station less then a 100 ft is where i ended up, knowing that i dont have traction in 1st or 2nd gear it would be inpossible to reach 60 in our cars

Sorry for your loss and glad you and your mom are ok. I think the poster that mentioned the 60's was talking temperature... not speed.

I had an incident with a deer in Nov 2013. I avoided the deer, but lost control of the car. The car was totaled by Allstate. She was in mint condition prior and had some special upgrades.

I had a 2006 Elise 35k miles.

The Allstate Ins adjuster looked at it a few times, said "damn that was a nice car". He did not know how to value the car, so they called in some special adjuster and ultimately they gave me $42k for the car.

However I gave him a box full of documentation detailing every mod and the costs of those mods.

Hope that helps.

Oh fuuuuuu----- Dude, so sorry to hear this, man. I know you loved your car.

The only words of comfort I can give is that your life and your mom's life are worth infinitely more. I know that is no big comfort at the moment since it is so fresh. Get what you can for the car and keep looking forward, man. RIP, poor Elise.

Thinking of K-swapping? Here's an idea of the cost involved.

Nooo. Sorry for your loss If it makes you feel a little less worried my brother has Allstate and he had a similar accident. Allstate paid him a fair amount.

I bought my 2006 Elise brand new on 12/2006 for $43,500. That adjuster was in over his head. -Robert

It was a base model. The only added options were hard top and "black pack."
The dealer needed to move the 2006 MYs to make way for the 2007s. The MSRP was 52K
