The only thing i had driven for long periods of time before coming to Lotus was FWD cars that were basically stock. My impression is that if you think of the lotus as tenuous at the limit, I'd evaluate/change two things
1. Driver input (basically covered above)
For the most part I consider the lotus pretty tame at the limit, save for conditions in which dramatic weight transfer off the rears occurs during some part of cornering- I mitigate this by knowing the corner in question or being assuredly below the limits.
