SCCPC11165HL30185 2005 Ardent Red is NOT repairable..

I love how they are marking my deer-struck '05 as a repairable wreck when the chassis is bent so badly the top wouldn't go on without them physically forcing it into place and the doors won't close. Anyone know how to straighten out a chassis? Oh, that's without the passenger side front suspension being a mix of completely torn off and shoved back several inches.

Nearly 9 years and just shy of 80,000 miles of ownership out of my planned 20-25 years and I get taken down by a deer half a mile from my house. Looks like it's time to step up to an '07-08 Exige S and finish off the next 11-16 years...

Alas, this car is great for parts and everything not directly impacted is in excellent shape. Seats had a little discoloration but were good (no rips, tears, etc.) I still have the hard-top and it's for sale complete with bag and the three trim pieces. It was NOT on the car when the hit-deer came out of hiding. Neither was the soft top.

Not sure about the front right wheel but the rest are all in good shape. Overall, an excellent parts car with the Larini SE exhaust and over-diffuser grilles, factory fog lights, HID upgrades (though I believe they shorted out in the accident), etc. I could not tell if the crash structure sustained any damage but the radiator did not. One oil cooler was trashed and the a/c lines were pinched but not cut.

Is that Cyrillic? Why would it come up in Cyrillic? Has my computer been hacked by Russians or Greeks?

Not sure what you mean by Cryllic. It comes up normally in mine. For some odd reason Autobidmasters (the one that does the salvage auctions for the insurance companies) has odd web addresses like .es, .ru, .kz, etc. I did a search on my vin and that's how many of them were coming up but it should be a normal web page.

The link is to autobidmaster.ru, the AutoBidMaster Russian site.

If you use this link to the US site:

Salvage 2005 red Lotus Elise with VIN SCCPC11165HL30185 on auction | AutoBidMaster

then everything is in English.

I don't have anything but the hard top and the car is in Maddisonville. So far as I know you can go inspect it prior to buying.

I would be happy to sell the hard top which is in 95% perfect shape only I have no idea how the heck to ship it.

I wonder why that website I linked was in english for me and no one else??? lol Thanks for the help.

Deer hit the car and went over it but when it hit it caused me to drop two wheels into the edge of a wet grassy ditch which took me into some cable-based retention poles. Once that deer filled the windshield I was along for the ride. Notice it was a nice long straightaway but with heavy brush cover almost to the street. It was 1am, crystal clear skies but the full moon made everything on drivers left bright but shadowed the right where the deer came from. 35-40mph. For once I don't even have a story of doing something fun, stupid, crazy, showing off, etc. It was simply driving down a straight line at the friggen speed limit.

For some reason it likes to put everything panoramic even when it's portrait.

The last pick (flip 90 degrees right if you save it) you can see where it literally tore the suspension away and shoved it back. The bars are the A-arms and the anti-sway bar. The wheel is moved back about 4" or more. Chassis is bent with a twist (passenger front higher but also bent middle).

For what it's worth I'm glad I hit the pole. The spacing is just wide enough I could have gone between leaving those cables at the base of the windshield or about neck-level on me. As a motorcyclist I'd like to find whoever had the idea of these cable-based retention systems they are setting up alongside the freeway and run them through them like an egg slicer. After all, that's what they are.

I still have the hard top. It was in my living room, not on the car. Have the bag, the hard top and the 3 trim pieces. The top is pristine as it was hardly ever on the car. I just have no idea how to go about shipping the thing from Knoxville.

Greyhound Package Express works pretty well for bulky items.

The question I have is what to put it in? I mean, am I supposed to rig up some sort of a light wooden pallet and enclose it in a box or just put it in a box and put foam around the edges or...? I'd be far more worried about it arriving safely to the buyer than by the means of which it would be shipped.

Somehow I missed this until now. Sorry to see a local car leave like this.

Have you started a search for a new one yet?

I plan to start hunting an Exige S240 around the spring. I had this one for 9.5 years and 78k miles before Emo-Bambi put herself to sleep on it.
