Trouble with Fastworks Server

Is anyone else having trouble with Fastworks communicating with the BOE Server? All I want to do is monitor some performance parameters, not even load any tunes, but I can't even open the software unless the server is online. The software needs to allow for use when offline. I'm generally happy with the product, but this is really unacceptable.

Yeah I just checked mine as well and seems like the authentication server is offline. Agreed this needs to work offline for this very reason, maybe in future with a license file? Although its the first time I have seen this in a few years. The other issue is they need to roll out that updated version as I have not been able to datalog, live tune etc for almost a year now since the software broke from tactrix plugin update. I know they are working on a updated version for a while now but not sure what the ETA is.

At least you had a working product. I bought a cable half a year ago and still to this day have nothing to run it with and no communication on what to do with it. In fact, it's still in its original packaging.

The old server was hacked by Russians and killed it. lol

That said, the new server is working gloriously but won't work with the old software.

We hope to be done debugging the new software by the end of the week so those with PSI Cal IDs should be back in business...

Shoot me an email in 10 days for a software update...

Thanks for your understanding...

I appreciate what your team does for the community, Phil. What is the rationale behind the requirement of checking in to an online server, though?

Fortunately for me, you tuned my car at your shop and I haven't had the desire or need to change a thing.

I have the same issue .. unable to connect to server .
Have sent an email but as yet no reply but hopefully problem will be sorted ASAP.

It does seem unusual that we have to check into an online server to access the software .
I run a Motec ECU on another car and they supply one time codes to access the software etc.

Lets hope the new software has this function .

2-11 : BOE Built Engine / Rev 400 SC / Quaife Sequential / Dry Sump / Fastworks Tune SOLD [ a sad day]
ELISE : K20 / TVS 1320 / EP sequential / Dry Sumped / Motec M1

The intent is to prevent a customer from using one software license to tune multiple cars. Their server checks to see if your account matches the VIN and license.

Just a heads up, I don't have a mechanism to send out new software automagically... At this time, you can email me if you truly need it and we'll visit about it, as this version isn't ready for everyone just yet. It's VERY BETA. If there's a 911, we can work together to resolve it and I may use the beta software to resolve it.

T4, 2005, isn't quite ready at any level at the moment. It's closer all the time.

Thanks,

Phil

New twist of good fortune in this case. We were able to get the server back from the pirates. True story.

For those on legacy software, should be back up and running...

Cheers,

Anyone have older driver for tactrix cable? Would be nice to be able to datalog again.

Thanks @turbophil for the update. Nice to have access again.

Has this issue been solved? I know this is my first post, hello to all, I have just been a casual observer I am not really a chat forum guy. I am looking at Tuning my 06 Exige. I have been emailing BOE, thank you Andrew for his quick responses and apparently I have to send in my ECU to them for a flash tune. What is this "server" "The old server was hacked by Russians and killed it. lol" and why is it important to tune the car? Sorry for the noob questions but after reading this post just a bit confused, just looking for information from those who have used the system. I am also looking into VR and InoKinetic tuning solutions.

The server is only required if you have the software to change the tune. Since you are sending in your ECU then this is not an issue. By the way, it is back up and functioning.
