HANS fit with standard seats

Hi all,

My Schroth ASM 4-pt harnesses are getting a bit old, so I'm going to replace them, and I'd like to do a 6-pt for the driver's seat. Without ASM, HANS is necessary. I have the Exige-style seats with shoulder belt pass throughs, and a local race shop is familiar with adding a sub-belt slot to the Elise seats. What I wonder about is how the stock seats work with a HANS device. Currently, in a helmet, it feels like the seat already pushes my head forward a bit, but with all the HANS designs I've seen, it looks like that'll be even worse.

Are any of you using HANS devices with your standard Elige seats? How did you find the fit?

I may just refresh the 4-pt harnesses if I don't find a good 6-pt/HANS solution. I don't want to put in race seats since this car isn't fully a track car, just does a handful of track days a year.

I use a Necksgen Rev with stock Exige seats with a sub slot and a 6 point. Not quite the answer you were looking for, but an option.

I have modified my stock seats for a 6 point (sector 111 grommets). I also placed 3/4” spacers and longer bolts on the front of the seat rails. This causes the seat to be in a more reclined/comfortable position for the HANS.

They make HANS devices with different angles. I switched to the formula style and it helped quite a bit. They also make one now that is not a fixed angle.
