Race seat options revisited.

Just wondered what new-er seat options other than the tillet B5?
Im looking for track support, Not an oem style in carbon. Prefer cheap, Something to swap in or out for track duty.

re: Race seat

Inexpensive, light, good all-around support:

Kirkey 14" fits and is my favorite. It has goos support because circle track guys pull more G's than we do.

I have Kirkey 17" seats modified to fit. They are the best track seats I've ever used.

My frame, rear subframe, steering rack, A-arms, front crash structure, suspension uprights, and fuel tank are stock.

Finally people talking about kirkeys! I've always wondered if they would fit, but never saw them in an elige. I've sat in them in cobra kit cars and they comfy + supportive!

Do you have any pics of these installed? Also, what type of brackets are you using?

re: Kirkey

I bolted the seat to the floor and roll-bar.

I did not move the shifter.

Some pics here. I will take and post a better one.

I have custom brackets bolted through the cross members.

My car is apart right now but I'll have the cage and seats back in within a month. I'll take photos then.

re: Kirkey

How did you manage to get 17" fitted?

We definitely need pics!

I want to upgrade to a containment seat. I printed out the diagrams from their site. although it appears that my seat (road-race intermediate light weight 20 degree layback) has a containment kit. I was going to call them after the holidays.

I still find nothing short of a Porsche race seat or the like or my friend's (Caravaggio) Corvette race seats hold me in the car so good. It is due to the high rib and hip support wings. Kirkey is very light , too. Pretty much need a good quality CF seat to beat!
